He has the pace required. Never said he can defend properly. But that’s what happens when you change fundamental club formation 12 games into a season. It had to be done, but we don’t really have the personnel for it
Paul Conway got up and left the stand when their fourth goal hit our net and he did not return. Surely they must see that Murray is out of his depth and the current squad is not equipped to compete at this level.
From post match interview he seems to have thrown in the towel. I can't blame him, TBH, he seems to have accepted the bleeding obvious that we are just not good enough.
To be fair to Murray, he has never sounded like he wants the job. He has been asked to do an almost impossible job and has done his best. He is very young, very inexperienced in management and doesn’t deserve some of the inane comments on here. He isn’t up to the job, but tbh I’m not sure anyone would be with this squad.
If, big if, there was anyone up to the job, we had him in employment and they binned him off with 21 measely words.
First FA Cup semi for nearly 100 years?. First double over Wednesday in 60 years and still last manager to beat them? I'd settle for a bit more of that.
So if i were murray, id be thinking well ive done what has been asked. Ive altered the formation....ive brought players back in and even tweaked the press a bit.....but we are still making the same mistakes etc etc. Yes mate .....we are and if you bring any other of the squad players in they will continue to the same.....because (drrrrrrrrrrrrr drum roll)...the players you have at your disposal are not to the required standard for this league and wont be for at least 12 months...at which point (when they are decent enough)......they will be sold! All i can say is we need to be tighter all over the pitch and try try try out battle the opposition....this isnt a get at the players and i absolutely love our application....its just we cant compete ......without the right tools.
If he can explain his tactics and formations then I might give his opinion some credit. NB. The players do have to accept some of the blame.
Well in a sense, he is right. We can blame a manager for who he picks or doesnt pick of course, but nobody can legislate for ridiculous individual goal-gifting mistakes like with that first goal today. How can we even begin to expect to win a game when were conceding over 2 each time.
a fair result would be about 7-2 to them maybe 7-3 as we should have had a penalty. They were miles better than us though still quite poor.
They should be 3 times better than us. Their players are probably paid 6 times more than ours and have played this and higher leagues for a while.
The interview from Murray is just pure honesty. The performances have been there, and we can score, but just making costly errors. If you removed the obvious errors, we’d be mid-table with a positive goal difference.
