Murray: "We know we're going to score goals." Interviews Caretaker Head Coach wants Reds to shore up defensively Adam Murray says Barnsley need to eradicate individual errors from their game and take more responsibility on the field if they are going to survive in the Sky Bet Championship this season. Sorry Newsbot, that's only half right. We've scored on average just 1 goal per game, and only 2 teams have scored fewer goals in our league. You're right about conceding though.
We also know we are going to concede more goals than we score ...... last 6 games 1-5, (Sack Manager) 1-1, 2-2,1-2,2-2,2-4 (appoint we hope..) total F = 9 A = 16 Its the opposite of the Keegan Philosophy - we know we will concede but we will score more than we let in
To be fair it must be increasingly difficult to find anything positive to communicate. Earlier in the season there were a few "we're confident" and then "we're still confident" messages, then some "we'll get the results we deserve", "a win is coming and will be a turning point". More recently "we're going in the right direction", and "we're positive". More recently on twitter / instagram in particular it's "we'll keep fighting". I think that may be the theme for a while. There's an unwritten sub-text of "despite the fact that we're just not good enough to find a way to win" which people are thinking but they obviously can't communicate. Hard job for Newsbot right now.....
We know we’re going to score goals but with our totally disfunctual defence we will continue to gift opposition teams soft goals
Did you think there was a subtle change in his post match interview on Saturday? I saw a parallel with DS's statements which were much less positive towards the end and the bits about it being hard and how he'd need to think hard about it in Murray's latest one.
Bloody hell- going to be entertaining if it only takes a month to break managers now. Shall we stop naming them and just numbering them so we don’t get too attached?
They've missed a bit of the headline out. It's meant to be; Murray: "We know we're going to score goals.... Say's every opposing team we face"
i don't think it's any coincidence that the worst performances have been against the teams in and around us in the table. It's the added pressure of being expected to prevail that they can't handle.
