I didn't rate him but totally agree. All he had to do was put out a competent 11 most weeks to finish third in a ***** league. He'd already met an objective this season in making the last four of one the two domestic trophies. That doesn't take much. You're only competing with Hearts, Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers in the cups. Lowest finish should have been fifth in a bad year. That coupled with money spent and crowds being up there. Abject failure. Easiest job he's had and bo llocksed it up.
If we didn't sign Bahre off Stendel's recommendation I would be massively surprised. Many managers lose their best players, there's probably about 1/2 dozen managers in the world who sit in the luxury of being able to buy and keep who they want when they want, it comes with the job at lower levels like ours.
I think it's a question of degree. I don't think there are many clubs in the top 2 divisions who operate like we do, and I think if you spoke to Hecky or Stendel they would confirm that. I reckon we're the worst of the top two divisions, and worse than many in league one, and I reckon people in football know that. As far as Mike Bähre goes, I like him as a person and as a player, but I'm aware that I'm probably in a minority there
Totally agree, I was critical of his tactics and player selection while he was he but in some folks eyes he could/can do no wrong, went to leeds took a team on the brink of the play offs with a expensive squad and finished 13th with the managing 3 wins in half a season, then went to hibs in a 5 team league and had them 2nd bottom....
Hecky had a 60-odd% win rate in his first two half-seasons as caretaker gaffer. It started to diminish a little when he got the perm gig and as the bones of the great side were sold off. But the start of the 2017/18 season up until this week; I'm sorry, that record is not simply a case of "woe-is-me-the-********-sold-my-best-players". It's very average management at best. Barnsley August 2017 February 2018 31 6 10 15 19.35 Leeds United February 2018 June 2018 16 4 4 8 25.00 Hibernian February 2019 November 2019 32 11 12 9 34.38 Total 79 21 26 32 26.58
Lennon got hibs promoted as Scottish Championship winners, and then a fourth place finish and European qualification in his first season in the top flight, lost just 24 games from 123 in charge with hibs. Not sure what happened after that for him to leave.
He probably couldn't give a ****. He's back home with his family with an hefty pay off. It's cynical but that's football, it rewards failures. End of the day you look after yourself and your family.

Seems to me that they're saying he was the wrong choice, but excusing themselves for setting him on because he'd been head hunted by Leeds (no mention of the horrible run he'd been on he'd been on with us, and others would have been sacked). They also excuse his poor record at Leeds because they sack a lot of managers (but the current managers still there and doing well with many of the same players) They even go on to say he'll possibly do well back in England, because he's proven himself here, but he hasn't really. He proved that he could work with good players at Barnsley, but not at Leeds. They've basically embarrassed themselves by setting on the wrong bloke, and are trying to cover their arses.
Saw Hecky Saturday when i was running back home from Parkrun along broadway - he was jogging the other way.
Footballers really are pathetic at times. Hearts & Hibs both struggling all season, sack their managers in the same week & then both win by 3 goals in their next match. Must be the only industry where staff can behave like that.
Former St Mirren and Sunderland boss Jack Ross has been given a three and a half year contract to succeed Paul Heckingbottom at Hibernian.
