According to Daily Star who say he's wanted by Leeds, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest. Can't be true as seven million is still far too low. Should be slapping a ten million valuation on him.
We always make the mistake of asking for how much we actually want, rather than starting at an absurdly high number.
£7m plus a sell on is good money imo. You can't sit and whine about over inflated player prices if you're on the same merry-go-round.
Maybe we only want £3m. I agree with you though. We should be asking for a figure so high that (a) nobody comes anywhere near him, and (b) on the outside chance that somebody does, we get a huge wad of money. £10m wouldn't sound amiss for a striker hitting the net at this level.
For a player who's proving he can score at championship level, in a struggling team, 7 million is f all. If Woodrow played for most other championship sides, the value would be 15-20 million. Which is exactly why he'll be leaving - I reckon about half of the championship are looking at him and Mowatt and thinking they can pick up a bargain. Which they probably can.
I’m less convinced that other teams see Mowatt as a desirable acquisition. He rarely scores, lacks pace, and takes rubbish set pieces.
If -and its a big if - we sell Woodrow for £7million you have to question the owners model. I agree that all players have a price but Woodrows at this stage must be significantly more than that - it would be if he played for a more fashionable club
Id sell aswel for 7 million..... Selling isnt the issue, its the scouting/spreadsheet replacement that seems to be the stumbling block at the moment.
If we get anything close to £7m then I'd be shocked. We've sold better players for less. If we do sell then I wouldn't be surprised if we use a good % of the money on Ivan Toney at Peterborough. I reckon £5m would do it.
Where does that figure come from, I’ve often wondered how clubs arrive at a transfer value for their players ? Is there an algorithm
