Daniel signed for Barnsley and agreed with the "plan". He went to great lengths to explain how the plan was the way forward and how much he backed it. Daniel wanting experience. He mentioned it in a few interviews not as much as some make out but I agree he mentioned it.He also mentioned experience didn't mean in terms of age but games played. Its been mentioned Daniel wasn't given the correct tools. but the players who he went out on a limb for were all signed. Radlinger,Bahre,Wilks,Chaplin,Diaby. He even played younger players like Ben Williams over more experienced players. At a meeting which Conway and Stendel both attended they were asked about signing experienced players.Conway stated they had spoke with Championship players but there demands were off the scale. That says to me the coach and recruitment team made recommendations to the board but they weren't prepared to meet there wage demands. Another old favourite of mine is bringing in out of contract experienced players. When asked the question by Andy Giddings Dale Tonge said they had looked at possibilities but couldn't get them fit in time to help the team. That interview was in September it also indicated the board gave them the go ahead to bring players in. I know some will view this post as being pro the board and anti everything else but I can assure you that's not the truth.Im trying to balance a few things out by stating comments which are out in the public domain for people to read or hear.
So are we letting it go or not letting it go? If you have a barney with your missus and you both agree to drop it and move on, is it helpful to bring it up again, you know... just to clarify your views?
Yes you're right I should have kept quiet.I think I'm the type of bloke if I saw you in the street and you were getting attacked for no reason I would have to help you.Reading the BBS again today though I just don't get the continual berating of the board by some when there is documented evidence out there. I think I will ask the mods to delete it though.
I get that you have a different view and like I've said in previous threads there shouldn't be a problem with that, but it is unfair to expect people that have other views to come round to your way of thinking or not air their views because they are opposite to your own. For what it's worth, I equally dislike the 100% pro-owners posts as much as the 100% anti-owners posts, as life is never as black and white as that.
Just what it needs. Another thread. There's also comments from the owners out in the public domain that are utter B.S.
Sorry BMW, but this makes you an incredible hypocrite. You don't like any criticism of the board and plead, with a certain level of self righteousness, to all who think differently to you that they should 'Let It Go'. However, it's absolutely fine for you to continue posting yet another tirade against these posters. It appears to be one rule for you and like minded individuals and another for posters who have the audacity to think differently. "Don't do as I do, do as I say". You've always been one of my favourite posters on here. But I'm saddened by this stance of yours. There's many posters on here whose opinions on a great many issues (both football related and other) I totally disagree with. I'd never try to stop them airing their views & opinions simply for thinking differently to me. Usually I am loathe to criticise another poster (especially one who I have the utmost respect for), but felt I had no option on this occasion.
Sorry you feel that way JLWBigLil.I never meant for it to come over as self righteous I'm certainly not that kind of person.I realised that by posting what I did was out of order regarding my "Let it go" post yesterday and for that I have apologised and in the last hour asked site admin to delete my post. I've always advocated people respecting others views and I stand by that it appears though I have over stepped the mark and for that I'm sorry to you and any other poster offended. It wasn't my aim to antagonise my fellow BBS's Sorry to all.
I live the clarity you bring with your posts. I appreciate your attempts to bring balance and objectivity to a debate which has been alarmingly one sided for months. There are clearly many on here who will disagree but I can see no reason why you should be apologising. All you've done is express a point of view. For that I applaud you as it takes some bollx to post knowing you'll then have to put on the tin hat.
I take your point that Daniel.signed to the plan, he liked working with the youngsters. The problem is, he realised before we d even been promoted that it was wiser older heads that were needed to mix with the youngsters to do what he aspired to do in the championship. If you watch the tykes tv interview, Conway interrupts him to put his version of experience and its clear that's not what Daniel means. I must admit I didnt pick up on it last season, its only when I rewatched it that it became clear.
