Rarely had a pro Tory sentiment in all my life but based on his performance in the last 2 daily briefings this guy has stepped up and is showing real conviction and leadership in the battle against the virus. I previously had him down as an ambitious lightweight with nothing to offer. Maybe it’s that he’s so much better compared to what went before (Johnson, Raab, Gove, Sharma, etc) but for now he has me convinced that the fight is in good hands and he’ll do whatever it takes to get us through it. Wiping off the NHS debt at a stroke and without any fuss proved he was serious. Keep it up lad!
It’s actions not words that count. Personally I have little confidence in any of them. Hope to God I’m wrong though.
I think your easily pleased tbh is he ?well why are the staff criticising him now on C4news for lack of ppe?

Any government would have been caught out with this. Yes the funding has been culled year on year. Yes we may have missed out on the Euro ventilator scheme but who knew this was going to happen. Yes we were probably slow to lockdown but where was the precedent or benchmark to trigger it. I'm to the left all day long and third generation Labour voter but you tell me a Corbyn, Miliband, Prescott, Blair et al cabinet would have done any better. Politics has a place in society. It's healthy debate. Just not now. We know what we need to do and I'm complying with the guidance and trusting in those who are giving the guidance, aside of their allegiance . I do not envy their current positions. We can argue the toss another day when we all have our liberty.
Listen, I’ve had him down as a lovely person ever since he came to my attention but we can’t get caught in the trap of judging someone by his past actions if he seems to be dealing with the situation as it unfolds.
Ebola Sars Cholera MERS Its not like they weren't given a LOT of warnings in the last few years and still they sat and waited. Didn't even put a single plan in place.
You must be watching different footage to me rabbit caught in the headlights sums It up for me cancelling the debt couldn't do that on his own, why didn't he cancel before he was staring down the barrels
10 years of underinvestment is responsible for the lack of ppe. To hold him personally responsible is just dogma.
Cancelling the debt now is a cheap trick to deflect attention from the government's poor handling of the situation. It could have been done at any time but for ideology. Don't kid yourselves that ideology has or will change. It won't.
Mmm must have got him mixed up with another Tory that voted for cuts last ten years oh wait though that’s all of em .
It’s not only me that thinks so... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...k-god-for-matt-hancock?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
Let's see how history paints these Tories, found money to cover up their under funding of NHS and social care. The majority of us have seen right through this tactic. We're nowhere near the worst of this, words won't fight this virus. So far all we've heard are words and empty promises. Where's the PPE? (Yanks just forcibly acquired some bound for Europe), where was the planning? Why weren't government making the public aware in January that something terrible was coming? Because Brexit was the be all and end all. Oxbridge debating society tossers who haven't a clue. The truth will out.
