Add this into the mix with the mass shooting problem and it paints a sad picture

Always been the case - Brown skinned people peacefully protest for a right not to be shot - or for a return of their homeland, they get teargassed and arrested. Heavily armed white people protest for a right to be allowed to kill people, be racist, or carry guns in state buildings, and the state and the president treats them as 'freedom fighters'.

 

California brought in gun laws after the Black Panthers started arming themselves. If the black/hispanic population started queuing at the gun stores they'd bring in tighter gun laws by the weekend.

That is correct but the number of black people who live in low income areas is also disproportionately high and therefore the number of black people who commit crime is disproportionately high.
I think that's the bigger issue. That they are being raised in a vicious cycle of poor families and being unable to get out and do well for themselves. The closest thing to that round here is that I would hazard a guess more people from thurnscoe are criminals (in the sense of visible crime rather than fraud etc) than those from cawthorne.

I know some police no doubt will be racist but I don't believe that vast majority are. I think it's simply that the poorer black people who live in bad areas turn to crime and that causes them to be involved with the police more often. The more you're involved with the police the more chance there is of being shot by the crazy ********. I also think that because they already have it in their mind that police are out to get them because of the constant need to label them that they are also more likely to resist arrest or do something out of fear that results in them getting shot. This is backed by FBI stats that say black people resist arrest many more times than whites despite the smaller numbers.

Ps I hate the term black people or white people or blacks or whites but I can't think of a better way to say it.

Having seen the video, I can't imagine for the life of me why they would want to resist arrest

 

I think that black people resist arrest more times because they are stopped and searched with trivial cause far more often than white people

Like I said it's a vicious circle but that doesn't automatically mean that racism is in play and I think it's completely out of order for the media to automatically assume racism is the case every time.

If we are to automatically assume that racism is the reason do we not also have to assume that sexism is too? If you are a female in America you have a 1 in 3.9million chance of being shot by police. If you are male it's 1 in 166 thousand.

Yes I think there is a strong case of bias in both. When police attend I think they are more likely to be fearful of a man than a woman and more likely to be fearful of a black man than a white man.

 

If you’re pretending that the police in the states aren’t disproportionately killing black people you are!

if you’re not doing that, then clearly you’re not.

you can decide for yourself whether you were mistaken or being an apologist for state sponsored murder.
