These are probably some of the movers and shakers that should be carefully listened to regarding direction of policy with regard to farming and the environment.

Nobody has said chlorinated chicken is poisonous, to my knowledge, if they have I agree with you that's very stupid.

The problem is that chicken is chlorinated to 'clean up' the meat, rather than there needing to be proper controls in place to ensure the meat is clean and disease free in the first place.
It's not that chlorinated chicken is in any way bad for you, it's that it masks problems with the meat that would make it otherwise unappealing to consumers etc.

Eggs are the same way in the US, they are washed with chemical sanitiser, which removes the natural protection of the egg cuticle - hence why US eggs need to be refrigerated and why they are white in colour, not brown.
This is done over there because the vast majority of their eggs are from caged hens, rather than free range, which leads to contamination problems and there is no mandate to vaccinate chickens to prevent salmonella, as there is here.

Me either. The first time I can remember having it was when I left uni in my early 20s. We did have summat called Steak Canadians for Jack Fultons But that was about it. Food is cheaper and more accessible now than it’s ever been.

Steak Canadians! Like wafer thin ham. Might have cooked them in the microwave as I remember. Terrible processed food in them days.
