Just seen this he tweeted yesterday saying its now safe for those who were told to isolate to go out again

On what scientific basis does he make that claim bearing in mind the rate of infections and rate of deaths is higher than it was when they were asked to isolate - of course its not safe the guy is either deliberately trying to get people killed or doesnt care that they are collatoral damage as part of a wider plan? to save the economy or the cheif advisor. Did I miss the annoncement about where they could be vaccinated

“So long as they (the Proles) continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains of Argentina, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern...Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbours, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.”

Another section of the G Orwell instruction manual 1984 - its looking like all he got wrong is the date

Of all the outrageously stupid things this Government have done, including pointlessly trashing the economy for two generations, they’ve excelled themselves this time. Absolutely fûcking ridiculous. And in four weeks time, when all these elderly, infirm and obese start to cark it, it will be the justification for even further needless infringement on the civil liberties of those with no need to be locked down.

30,000+ deaths of mostly the elderly and people with ‘underlying health issues’.

That’s the long-term care problem solved then. Probably a nice little bump to inheritance tax receipts too.

The conspiracy theorists must be having a field day.

His tweet is so limited on information. If someone has been stuck inside for three months then it's a great thing for them to go sit in their garden, enjoy the sunshine and have one visitor at a time that doesn't go in to the house of that person whilst still social distancing.

The problem is with those that go too far you have people with serious health issues like COPD start thinking it's OK to start going to the supermarket again or on a bus to town.

I don't get where we are really at to be honest, my mate is vulnerable and they rang him a couple of days ago to say he is canned until at least the 30th June

    Same here mate.

I got the letter to say 3 months inside.

So I have kept track of it. and Today is the start of week 10 for me. So I had including this week, 3 weeks to go.

I've no idea now. Although because I couldn't get any shopping delivered, and have 2 lads with me, I had no option but to nip out for some necessities anyway

So, as it stands, I don't know if I can join in with the 6 people in a garden lark, or only be with me and my 2 lads......

Think you’re best just making your own choices and ignore the government advice. At the end of the day it’s you that will be seriously ill if you get it so just take care of yourself, however you see fit. Hancock and his charlatan mates have hung yourselves out to dry and don’t care if you live or die.

He did miss out the important distinction that this only applies in England. It also seems to the remove the funding used to protect those that are shielding.

Relaxing the rules for vulnerable people would mean we are at stage 1. Currently we are on stage 4. It would be suicide for anyone in that category to follow this reckless advice.

    True,

I am of the opinion that I have been labelled as "vulnerable" may be slightly OTT, and I get the reason why (Azathiaprine I take to control Crohn's, which is generally what they give organ transplant patients so they reduce rejection of organs)... the meds does reduce my immune system somewhat.

Now, in a 2nd letter I got, says I wasn't in the highest vulnerable group, as I had no other condition, and that it was used to only treat and keep it under control. So I was in a moderate group now, not high risk... None of these appears in any government updates.

But have had nothing to suggest that it should be strictly adhered to or not.

And, I've one lad, who falls into the group that he should have gone to school today (I haven't let him) and the other one, who by the looks won't go back until September.

But, what I have based my decision on, for the school side of things, is something my dad said, and it stuck. When I see private and public schoolboys going back then we know it will be safe. He joked about it, but deep down I knew he meant it.

For the sake of what, a couple of weeks or so from the summer holidays, I didn't feel it warranted him going back and being the "guinea pig", plus my status as classed as vulnerable (I think, cos its not entirely clear), then bugger it. He can stay off until I am sure all 3 of us, have some kind of gut instinct (No pun intended with the chrons link) to go with...

In some places, people are now taking the example set by DC in Barnard Castle to totally disregard the
Governments Social distancing guidelines. My wife popped into the Co-op in Ossett today. She reckons
all previous protocol has gone out of the window. People reaching over each other to get things off shelves,
Staff brushing past at checkout to collect baskets, Staff stood in clusters talking and laughing etc.etc.
Some people probably getting "demob" happy far too prematurely.!!

That's because they didn't consult the people who matter before easing the shielding. No-one was expecting it.

As stupid as this is its even more stupid that they were only advised to shield in the first place but a 18 year old was ordered by law to take measures to protect the advised shielded person

To be fair, I exaggerated what really happened - it was actually a broccoli.
