Anyone going away in the near future? We’re hoping to get to Tenerife mid July for a well earned break. Hopefully the quarantine measures will be eased by then for coming home.
I think you will be okay and wont have to quarentine air bridges will be introduced, can see holiday prices rocketing for rest of the year with supply and demand though. And will it be the same? Restricted numbers on beaches and bars?
Mine and the mrs 20 year anniversary in October going to mauritius been booked 18 month and cost a fortune , hope we get there
Watch out for news on air bridges. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...stinations-first-set-air-bridges-uk-revealed/
Should be. Think abroad will be cheap as chips, holidays at home will be expensive. We originally booked months ago, got an email from airline to say it was cancelled in middle of Covid, then went back online to book roughly same flights 50% cheaper.
I think with all the uncertainty, and people not being confident enough to leave the house let alone the country, airline prices should be cheap for a while till confidence picks up. It will be the quiet in Tenerife no doubt, but that doesn’t bother us.
I was on a call with a senior figure in the travel industry last week and he suspected prices would be cheap this summer as confidence is low and oil is cheap. Next year is likely to be expensive as airlines look to make up the lost money this year. If you’re looking at booking, make sure you have proper insurance or pay with a 0% credit card because some airlines will go bust, we just don’t know which ones yet.
Our holidays were cancelled this year, I got in contact with the insurers and they kindly said it would be O.K. if we used the same insurance cover next year depending on where we go with either a plus or minus to our bill should imagine it will be a plus.
This is where having a caravan pays off! We shall be hitching up mid-August and heading off, probably Northumbria for some long beach walks with the mutt. Should have been touring Japan on the bullet train about the same time - mebbe next year...
I got a letter saying my insurance wouldn't cover Covid 19 related claims on trips booked after March 18 because it was a "known and anticipated risk".
