I'm still hopeful of staying up and will be until it is impossible to do so..

However should the worst happen, what do we reckon to the standard of League 1 against the one we got out of last time.

We managed to go a full season unbeaten at home then.. Any chance of a repeat?

I'd say on the whole, it is slightly weaker this time round. Charlton and Luton weren't bad, Sunderland were still spending above their means. Coventry were improving..

I'd be very optimistic that we would have enough for an immediate return..

I'd guess at Ipswich, Donny, Posh, Pompey & Sunderland being in the mix.

We still need to do some work on the core of the team though. Quality over quantity.

It depends who leaves. If we start well who knows, but did any teams this year go unbeaten at home?

Pompey were unbeaten at home, but obvs not completed the full season. Always gets nervy come the business end of the season.

Thing I’ve noticed about dropping down a league is this - there’s nearly always a feeling that if we can maintain the standard played in the relegation season then we will do fell in the league below.
But that never seems to happen.
The players standard drops to the level that they are playing at.
Yer can add to this the more physical nature of the game in a lower league.
Barnsley having relatively light weight players.

We weren't a big physical team on our last promotion, footballed our way out of it.

Always think in league 1, if you have a couple of decent pacey wide men and someone who can poach goals for fun, you have half won the battle.

You think Pinnock, Lindsey, Moore and Cavare were light weights then ?

Their gameplay did not revolve around a physical game. Well maybe Lindsay who only has that to his game with him being a slow lump.

Pinnock I wouldn't say was a physical defender for sure.

When you look how some teams bully their opponents especially in the middle of the park, we were defo not one of those.

Wonder if 24 teams from current league 1 can possibly survive with severely reduced incomes?

It will be different this year, with a lot of teams weakened by financial issues due to the virus.
Think it will be hard to judge until starting squads are announced.
