My sentiments exactly. We should not be relying on other results to keep us up, obviously they can help, but we should be looking to just keep on doing what we are doing, playing well and getting results.
Not for at least another year as his trial has been delayed. I'd be surprised if he did end up in prison tbh.
Disagree.. they were the only team by the looks who wanted someone not good enough to play our style of football.. So if you are suggesting we throw money away and just let him sit the season out, that baffles me. Hull win a game, Boro look tosh and the place goes into another negative meltdown.
Well firstly of course he matters when he's scoring goals that may affect our eventual survival in this league. Secondly Hull only "always" had the right to buy him, because we gave them that right. So perhaps being a bit less liberal with your comments about the "bizarre" posts of others might be in order..
From what I saw of the second half, Wilks hardly did anything. I could've scored that goal. Right place at right time, if any other Hull player had been stood there they would have scored. It looks bad right now, but I still think we did the right thing selling him.
If that is true (and we did not have a choice) then fine. But if we negotiated it down and then still chose to sell, I think that's stupid. Also, you've misrepresented my argument. I am not lamenting the loss of Malik Wilks, per se, but the fact that we have sold him to a team that is also competing for survival. This latter fact could directly impact whether or not we remain in the league.
Anyone know how he got on playing tonight and what hull v boro score was havent seen out about it on here.
Explain yourself Helen.. yes all in our hands. We win our matches we stay up regardless of other results.
If a direct rival wants one of our players that they feel will strengthen them I would tell them to fck off. If a direct rival who already owes us money wants one of our players that they feel will strengthen them I would tell them to fck off. We aren't desperate to offload - 95% of our wages are accounted for for the next four years remember? Once the deal was done however, we are powerless to stop them making it permanent.
Still doesn't change the fact that we sold a striker to a team also trying to survive and that that striker just won that team 3 points (3 points which could be the difference between our survival or not).
Yes Marlon, exactly.. We couldn't go back on a contractual clause for their option to buy. No loss for me.
Unfortunately it’s not fate, it’s our idiot owners. We called this back in Jan, and they did it anyway! Shocker, terrible decision
As Marlon pointed out, they were not facing relegation when the deal was done. Unless you are saying we are not allowed to sell to anyone in the same division ever?
As I've said if you read my posts, if we were contractually obliged to sell him and had no alternative, I am not suggesting that the board should have predicted this eventuality. I am saying that if we were not contractually obliged (Grant McCann yesterday said we were negotiating) then I think selling him to a team in a position similar to ours was a bad idea. Do you?
