19/20 Membership Entitlement Deadline... Ticket News Whether you are a part of the 6,500+ supporters who have committed to the 20/21 season, or you are yet to renew, all 19/20 members have a choice to make. Continue reading on the official site...
The wording of this is confusing, IMO, but it appears to be saying that there's essentially a choice between claiming the Flexi ticket or donating the Flexi ticket only now (or deciding that the iFollow access was sufficient). If you don't make a choice by the deadline, the club will keep the money for the Academy. If you previously requested a pro-rate refund via the memberships email address then the refund will be processed eventually, but with the assumption that the funds will go to the Academy. Either way, if you requested a pro-rate refund previously then it seems that you're not getting one directly, as there's no option to continue to progress the refund request, so you'll be time-barred by not selecting one of the other options. Regardless of the merits of the options available, I'm sure there was a clearer way to explain things than this.
I read it differently. If you ask for a refund, you get one, though it may take a while. If you don't ask for a refund, the club puts your money into the academy.
There's a bit about not needing to re-email the club within this that I either missed on the first two reads of the webpage, or which has been subsequently added. This seems to add a bit more clarity than how I originally interpreted it, which may well have been me missing this section.
I e-mailed the club for a refund and they said my request would be filed with all the others. That was before the special e-mail was set up.
I've sent the email asking for my refund. I have renewed for next season and whatever the refund is I will be doubling it and donating that amount to the national autistic society. Overall I think the club have done well under the circumstances.
I'm confused... why can I select more than one? I seem to be able to select up to 10 four-game-flexi-tickets. That doesn't seem right to me. Or would that only be if you want to do it for more people in your "network"? Or would everyone need to do this for themselves?
Still no idea what I’m doing with my four games. Haven’t been asked, was never called by the club nor by a player as was suggested might occur.
https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/best-season-ticket-sales-for-20-years A loss of around 35% on season ticket renewals. Wowsers.
Not surprising really given the feeling towards the board and uncertainty of Covid, Sure there would be quite a few for both reasons.
3500 people staying away isn't good for the club though.Maybe it will be enough to signal to the board that fans mean business? Who knows?
Nothing of the sort. As explained earlier in this thread, 2020/21 sales are 7k. The Chronicle article was also SALES. So likely to be less than 30%, sub 3k difference. Considering COVID & the relegation threat, it's a really positive response from us fans.
A lot of people don't want to give money to our board. Our board on the otherhand won't think the drop is down to them and instead put it all down to Covid and our upcoming relegation.
