Of course we want both. But if there was a choice then I would choose to keep Struber. Something substantial could be built under his leadership.
Nobody would pick league one with Struber before championship without Struber, not even the board who appointed him.
Stay up. I do rate Struber highly but he’s not worth keeping if the sacrifice is the division we play in. He is replaceable. And in any case, sadly, I think the answer to Nudger’s initial question is likely to be both or neither. I can only see him staying if we’re a championship club.
Its got to be stay up , with the prospect of playing behind closed doors & huge loss of income for the foreseeable future, then it is plain common sense to stay in the championship , the financial difference could mean the difference of having a club in the future or going to the wall & remember , as good as Struber is , he will eventually move on but the club will still be here .
Stay up Nudge, not sure Struber will stay even if we do, rather be in the Championship under another ‘long term target’ unknown manager than take the massive financial hit and drop to league 1. Good question to ask though.
Reading these posts it seems that our supporters haven’t yet understood how important Struber is to the club.
Stay up. Struber may still leave anyway. If he stays, and starts the season well, he'll be poached and we'll be looking for another coach. If he stays and does badly, he'll be thrown under the bus and the next coach who was allegedly the top target years ago will be parachuted in. Don't get attached to players or coaches at Barnsley, its futile.
