I agree , unless we want a repeat of this season we need to hang on to such as Brownie not sell him to the first club that comes up with an offer near the 2-3 million with add ons that we always seem eager to accept whoever the club is and whatever time it is in the transfer window as with K Moore.
Brown is a real conundrum. He has height and lighting speed. And yet offers very little as a striker/winger during games. Time after time attacks break down when it gets to Brown. But he must be doing something right in training because the manager keeps choosing him. There’s a player in there somewhere. And he often shows it when playing deeper as a full back or wing back. Next season we can’t wait for players to come good. Therefore I’d sell him. We need a replacement fast striker/winger that has an end product.
I like brown but can't imagine getting anywhere near 5 m for him. He may be worth 1-2 m at present but he really needs to improve on his end product. Saying that I am still against selling him for 1-2 m and I don't buy the argument that he doesn't suit struber's system. We seem to play with split strikers, which means we rely on players who are quick, work hard and make intelligent runs. Brown has all those attributes.
Bugger what the state of the market is right now. If a club sitting on £18m from a player sale wants Jacob Brown we shouldn't accept a penny less than £5m. Hes our player, we want to keep him and he has 2 years on his contract.
Nar. Read early threads. A position in the team that I said needed strengthening. Too many attacks coming to a grinding halt when it gets to Brown. Although I do like Brown - but as a wing back - not as a striker/winger. BTW - be very surprised if Brown went to Brentford - I think it’s just his agent bigging him up.
It’s a common theme this. You sit and listen to fans that you know talking about the players and the team. And then you look on this message board and the general opinion is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE. Not only applies to football either. Politics is another subject that falls into that category.
You don’t. The thing is we all agree with nudge to sone extent. We’d all love David Silva and Raheem sterling to replace Mowatt and brown but it isn’t going to happen. I’m sure both will be replaced in time once they move on/be sold/retire. here’s the rub however most us can see these players try there damndest on behalf of us. Most of us can see there might be better players in the world of football but are grown up enough to realise that we aren’t going to sign 99.9% of them.
Which of course is a totally different argument to saying that these two positions are the weak links within the side. As well of course as another centre back to replace Jordan Williams ...... and the addition of a tall target man. In other words - thi argument dunt owd any watter cocker.
It's clear to see mowatt and brown give 100%.They stay injury free don't get sent off and with some better players around them I'm sure they'll start to shine. Who else is out therye to jump in and surpass there efforts. I'm sure they will work on mistakes and get better mowatts already done it once.
if you think Mowatt and Brown are our weak links I’d suggest you haven’t seen us very often this year me old mucka!! The other 9 must have been a bit daft to give Mowatt the player of the year and miss browns 10 assists.
Good start today. Shackleton is a better striker / winger than Brown. Although Brown is better at wing back.
I know what you mean but honestly we paid 1.2 million for mike shearon over 10 years ago so if any person ever sold woodrow for 1.4 I wouldnt enter oakwell untill they left.
Good start? How so? He's just a rumour. Tomorrow morning I'll start a rumour we're signing de Bruyne. That'll be an even better start.
Very similar to Thomas , very good from the half way line to the penalty box & then like a rabbit in the headlights but Brown has a chance of becoming the real deal, whilst Thomas should be the one to move on ( In my opinion )
Has Brown had a good game at wingback? Genuine question cos It keeps getting mentioned, saw him have a bad game in that position away at Sunderland. I’d like to see us keep him, super athlete and getting better and better. Don’t see him as a defender though.
