We weren't in admin when pc took over, Doyle took us out of admin and then Cryne stepped in as PD had taken out crippling loans I believe which put us in a much worse position
Yes we were. Patrick took us out of administration. In fact, if my memory serves me right, we exited administration just prior to the 1-1 home draw against Sheffield Wednesday in December 2003.
I trust your memory than mine lol, just seem to remember PD had taken out some dodgy loan which is why it took some time for PC to finalise the deal
I doubt he personally lost out, and the stadium (separate to the club remember) might have returned him a buck or two - but the amount of loans he had for the club mean it was impossible for him to have claimed a dividend, and I sincerely doubt he profited from the club whatsoever on its sale to PC. He was skint and needed to get out, old Peter Doyle Gas and Oil, hence the PC reign. Possibly got some money - but nowhere near the amount the Cryne’s have taken given they still retain 20% of the club and 50% of the stadium. PC put a lot of money in over the years, I haven’t forgot that - but every penny was returned in this sale, and they’re still getting (or owed) more, whilst still owning quite a bit.
I’m not sure who made money or not tbh but I was just responding to the line that only the Crynes had turned a profit.
No, that was a couple of days after Patrick and Peter Ridsdale had bought the club. The purchasing of the club isn't the same thing as exiting administration. On our way home from the Chesterfield match, England were playing away to Macedonia in the European Championship qualifiers and a certain Georgi Hristov opened the scoring in the game.
They fell out with the 20%er at OGC Nice as well. That was partly what the dodgy sounding €22 million Luxembourg loan was for which they took out, to pay Rivere some of what they owed him.
Facetious bugger! Actually, wife wife had ordered an Indian takeaway (Lamb Tikka madras, chips, chapatis & poppadoms, before you ask!).
Didn't it say that the covenant is over 100 yrs old and probably not enforceable? So does that mean that the third party interest goes back that far? Probably just means you can't fire a bow n arrow during the hours of darkness.
