I agree on both those - Rooney should have been retired at least 20 games earlier, Steele was too small to dominate his box and his "distribution" was dire - some people still think the sun shone out of his *rse - just goes to show that first impressions last - brilliant game against Liverpool and set for life in the eyes of some.
It was a silly time though wasn't it? We were winning football matches, can't get sillier than that! I'll say it...... Yer daft bugger
How can anyone say Josh Scowen’s overrated? No one ever says he was technically great or anything like that but he just did a superb job in been extremely fit, been in the right position, winning the ball back well & quickly giving the ball to more talented players like Hammill & Hourihane. Kane might be overrated now as he seems to have slowed down a bit through bad injuries but he put together several exceptional seasons. You don’t score the goals he did in successive seasons through luck. I used to think Grealish was a bit overrated but after the last week he’s definitely proving me wrong.
Scowen was in my "Ex- Reds players you'd have back" team. Truly under rated and unsung hero of our promotion and 2 Wembley appearances in 2016
Jack Wilshere every pundits golden boy, grossly overrated, Pogba the new Jack Wilshere, as for players that turned out for us there are quite a few but my favourite bad buy is Hume £1.5 mil and perhaps worth a third of that.
Disco gave him a torrid time... we were 2 nil up at half time if I remember right and they subbed him off for Bradley Wright-Phillips and we ended up drawing 2-2
Harry Kane? You could argue he's underrated. His goal record has been consistently above 1 in 2 for the past 6 years, for a team who have only briefly been title challengers. Had he been playing for Man City or Arsenal or someone, we'd be considering him as one of the best in the world. He's the most prolific English goalscorer for as long as I can remember. All competitions: 14/15 - 51 games, 31 goals 15/16 - 50 games, 28 goals 16/17 - 38 games, 35 goals 17/18 - 48 games, 41 goals 18/19 - 40 games, 24 goals 19/20 - 34 games, 24 goals 20/21 - 8 games, 8 goals (despite supposedly not being match fit) England: 47 caps, 32 goals, and top scorer at the 2018 World Cup.
Hazard and Zaha. Both very talented but never understood why so highly rated. Zaha managed 3 goals last season yet is valued at 80 million apparently. Hazard was put in the same bracket as Neymar etc. But never hit the levels goals wise imo to be considered in that league with the elite.
I think you're mixing up two games mate. The one where Disco tore Bale a new one we were 1-0 and 2-1 up. Rasziak scored both their goals.
Thought Kenny dougall was overrated by many reds fans. He seemed good untill that injury v wycombe and then after that never the same but still people really rated him. Average player imo.
