No FR I don't believe it will be. I can't understand how they arrive at leaving Uni's and Schools open whilst closing businesses that are taking every precaution possible to halt the spread of the virus. Mercifully, my son, daughter in law and grandson are all feeling a lot better after being confirmed as having the virus for at least twelve days. As a family they have been very fastidious regarding personal hygiene and observed all the rules and advice given. They remain convinced, that one of their kids has contracted Covid at School and brought it into the house, although they can't be certain of course.
What exactly does everyone want? Ive seen people who wanted another lockdown now say it wont work because its 2 days too late, people who didnt want one saying no its not good and we should carry on as we are. No matter what the government does it wont be good enough for them and their individual view point
If you think things are bad now just wait until the begining of 2021 when good old Brexit kicks in it and Boris ***** off leaving the country a complete mess but having made himself and his disaster capitalist buddies a fortune.
I was home based anyway. I can not recall asking for anyone to lose their jobs. Also nothing to do with politics, labour wouldn't have done anything any different. What I can recall and I did post it here some months ago, is my experience going into Asda in Barnsley around may. Normally went to Tesco penistone where people followed the rules. Asda, people breaking the covid rules all over the place. I confronted a couple of 40 year old fat blokes who flouted every single rule, they looked at me like I'd come from another planet. Well do you know what...stop blaming the government, get a dose of responsibility. People gamed the system, found loopholes, congrats. They jeopardised the lives of people less able to fight this disease and now it's finally hit home. They cost people's jobs cos they thought the rules weren't worth following . People who broke the rules are selfish f@cktards. Rant over
Could not disagree more. I agree that those who break the reasonable rules (but not the unreasonable ones) are stupid I very much doubt that a couple of blokes in their 40s at Asda are to blame for this mess. I think it's far more likely that Boris faking a classroom to show how spread out it was and ordering all kids back to overcrowded schools, ordering a couple of million uni students into what are essentially houses of multiple occupancy and his point blank refusal to shield the vulnerable in any way has led to the spread. But if we're talking about Asda then is it the shoppers faults or asdas fault that there's no one way system, that aisles are the same narrow breadth that they were last year and that shoppers are forced to queue for checkouts in aisles that people are trying to shop in? I personally think that's he fault of the greedy supermarkets and the incompetent government who allowed it.
Riddle me this. Barnsley isn't a university town but it's hospital has the 8th highest admission rate for covid cases in the country. The two blokes in Asda represent a strain of thought that they don't like being told what to do. You just keep on your rant about the government but the opposition are calling for even tougher measures. For four months everybody has gamed the system when we should have been more responsible. Now we pay the price, or more correctly some of the businesses we thought were the structure of our life and community pay the price.
What government would you suggest? Which government in the same position we have on the global stage has it correct? I agree, this government needs to do one, would love a new government, but to say any other government would have a different result to what we have now is reaching as we don't have hindsight or omniscience
I agree, if this is your meaning, that the public are mostly to blame, we all saw it. Government, yes perhaps. As i said earlier, what do people want, a year long lockdown, with the chance of no herd immunity (if its a thing) and we get a miracle vaccine, or that we take unfortunate deaths which could keep people safe in the long run. Or maybe somewhere in the middle Everyone wants/thinks different things
Furlough ending, mortgage holidays ending. Less generous measure starting. Lockdown again with no end in sight, its desperate stuff.
I’m not sure that packing the kids off back home would be a good idea. Firstly, it would impact heavily on their mental health, development and futures. Secondly, it would adversely impact the economy as many people wouldn’t be able to work. it’s all about balance. In the same breath, the control over supermarkets is very poor and they’re profiteering- they should have been pushed to introduce an effective home delivery system.
no. We all want competent politicians making the correct decisions. From the moment they just stood there while Cummings and his eye test took place and they stopped listening to scientists because they thought they knew better we’ve been screwed. if you elect a Buffon you generally get buffoonery. Worst government we’ve ever had.
I’m fairly certain, as in 100% certain, that the Tories’ mates have been making a ton of money out of this (yes, I know there will be some overlap).
I expect people will be saying close schools because they are the biggest spreaders. But it seems the under 19s aren’t the biggest group.
