Utter quality Both looked absolutely f\/cked at the end and not surprised - equal in talent and work rate they are. I scratch my head every game wondering how on earth MK dons let us have Callum B. , he’s class.
Styles was on his haunches at the end wondering if he could get up. He scored with his RIGHT foot by the way. What a lot of talent we have at this club now.
And wev not even seen the best of styles yet, that's the exciting part. If we can identify a left wingback of similar quality next season, I honestly think styles will improve us even further when in central midfield.
Said in the matchday thread, it is very impressive how Brittain has seamlessly stepped up a division into our side. Not sure I've seen somebody step up like that before. I love him and our system suits him perfectly. I reckon our 2 wing backs will make us some serious money in the next couple of years.
Just been tipped by Clinton Morrison on SkY to go to next level. Also said VI was an angry man and do not mess with him(was at Palace with him).
Must be the best wing-back pair in the Championship, both show great quality in both defence and attack. We are blessed indeed with these two.
Both put some first time hit crosses in today rather than stopping it first and then the chance is lost which has happened in recent weeks.
Both Callum's were outstanding today. Bury Baggio gets my MOTM for the goal and super block in the second half
Calum Brittain is our best signing in many a year. Can’t believe no one at Championship level had picked him up before. Absolutely quality player who’s soon going to be worth a fortune.
Morrison was very complimentary of us on Tuesday as well vs Watford. I found it hard hard take him seriously at first because he's so chilled out, but he talks quite a lot of sense.
The even more bizarre thing is that they released him in the summer before re-signing! Would love to see their other Right Back given all their fans saying Brittain was second choice!
The lower leagues are where we should be doing most of our shopping really. Young, hungry players who are looking to improve and who will inevitably then make us money. They're generally more suited to hitting the ground running having already gained experience of the pace and difficulty of English football. Hourihane, Winnall, Roberts, Pinnock, Mawson etc are all fine examples. Brittain and Styles will surely follow.
The MKD fans will now be saying great player, should never have sold him and how much will we get when he is sold on for Xmillions.
Defensively he can be a bit naive - their chance where the bloke hit the bar is a good example - but he's a superb find. He plays it in the box quickly but often the cupboard is bare I'm afraid..
I think that too (regarding defensively) but that’s why our system suits him very well. If he’s playing in a 4-4-2, I think I’d rather him as a right winger/midfielder than right back.
