    Massive congratulations to Alex, what a turn around story for him personally.

    From being sent out on loan to Oxford to being the talismanic midfielder playing a big part in the surge up the league.

    He was getting noticed by plenty of people before this award. There’s a thread on the Boro forum about players out of contract at the end of the season and Alex features heavily as someone they would like to sign.

    Let’s just hope the riches of the premier league with us is enough for him!

    PS I bet Youngnudger is delighted for him!

    I am delighted for him, despite a lot of fans earlier in the season giving him stick for not resigning his contract he has stuck to his job & has been outstanding , even if he is not having the best of games he never hides & leads from the front , he has been superb. I hope that he stays with us but what ever he does he gets my blessing , he owes us nothing & he is the ultimate professional , well done Alex .

    He won POTY last season and I thought he kind of got it by default. He was the least worst. He was consistently, well, average. This season I think he's been superb. Much better than I thought he was capable at this level. I've never doubted his ability or work rate and fitness but I thought his lack of pace would always count against him in this division. It hasn't this season, he's been excellent. Well done Alex, model pro.

    Very much deserved and like some have said, a complete turnaround from the player we first saw when he arrived from Leeds. Shows the difference 3-4 years of age and experience make to a player.

    Sadly, unless we get promoted, I just can't see him being here next season. And if he chooses to leave, I can't blame him at all. Well done Alex.
