There was no need to delete the thread. Matt Bailey was rightly called out for behaving like a **** on twitter.
Not in relation to this particular thread, more a philosophical question I guess... If I start a thread, then don't participate any further, but many other users make multiple submissions, am I still the author of the thread, having more power over it than those that have contributed far more?
Tbf there was no explanation as to why it was deleted. In answer to @Jay most forums moderators will delete a thread if the thread starter requests its removal
Would suggest context is everything on this one rather than it being one hard and fast rule. Also the reasons for wanting something deleted come in to play.
Then maybe ask rather than suggesting some kind of wrong doing? There was about ten minutes or more between the request in the thread and when it was deleted. There were a handful of likes to Dyson's post asking for it to happen.
The most exciting time to be a Barnsley fan in a very long time and another excellent win to add to the tally today and there’s grown men arguing about if people they don’t know should be wished happy birthday during lulls in play. Some folk haven’t got nearly enough to worry about.
Didn't see the request. On some boards the title remains and then there's an explanation as to why the thread can no longer be viewed
The other forum (not football) that sucks hours of my life has exactly the opposite attitude. To the point it’ll reinstate deleted posts if they’ve contributed to a thread but the poster decides to remove their content with an edit.
