for anyone delaying buying there season tickets or just thinking of buying one. If we do get to the promised land through the play offs they'll be one massive scramble for season tickets and thats a fact. Especially with half the west stand closed down with no plans to open it. Buy buy buy buy buy and don't delay, we're going up a tell thi.
If we get into the Premier League, I predict that the West Stand will undergo a miraculous recovery...
I’d guess it’s not 50 grand from operational. which would be well worth it, as it’d be full most games.
I would say make it all good to use but put away fans in half of it so they can all post patronising words about how quaint our little ground is. We can fill the north stand surely? Would take a bit of work to rejig access but not impossible
Quite a lot. Why would Barnsley Council spend millions of pounds improving the ground when it’s not even clear the club will stay there. And the club won’t spend that on a ground they don’t own. Even if the ownership is resolved and the club buys it it would take time to put together a plan for a new stand and get it approved. West Stand is going nowhere before next season starts
Irregardless of who owns what or what division we're in, there is precisely zero possibility of the West Stand being replaced before next season. Re-opened yes, rebuilt no. Cloud-cuckoo land if you think otherwise.
When Farnham Red said "West Stand is going nowhere before next season starts", you replied to say he 'couldn't be more wrong'. There, that was fairly straightforward.
What do you predict then? That it's simply removed this summer? What would be the benefit of lowering our capacity?
Put it this way, if you were ever going replace the west stand when would be a better time? Logic suggests it would be to start at the beginning of a close season.
I'd guess that 'arguably' a temp stand could be put up over the summer, but honestly I don't see a temp stand as an improvement to what's there.
If you were going to do it the best time would probably have been during a 12 month period where the stadium was closed to fans. Not potentially to lower the capacity if we made it to the Premier league.
