Both games against Bolton should have been sewn up. Missed a hatful of near-sitters at their place when 1-0 up and decided to try and protect a 2-0 lead with our sieve-like defence at Oakwell
"Not only that, I’ll level with you, we’ve had enough of him as well. He is a young player and he came in and did well, but virtually a goal a game and he was causing a lot of issues." Honestly, with how he treated Luke Thomas as well as this, plus the allegations that have come out from his backroom staff, why would anyone hire him?
Eh? That's fairly revisionist. The right call was to get rid. The poor thing is the boards actions prior and post the sacking - not having a replacement lined up or in by now. That's got nothing to do with the fans.
Gotta agree with this, see Rotherham for example, sack Richardson next day very good L1 manager appointed, that's called executing a plan
But if there's no replacement lined up, then is it the right call? Surely the right call was to let the bloke who had guided us to the playoffs have a go at finishing the job.
In hindsight with no replacement ready to come in, it looks absolutely flipping barmy. Unless there was a serious disconnect between him and the players then i have to agree it doesn't make sense.
The board don't see anything thats written in front of them.the answers are hiding in plain site to them
In reality, you have absolutely no idea what's happening, do you? I just don't get the constant barrage towards the club. Football managers lose their severance pay when they find re-employment. Is it really common sense for Duff to return? Are we going to pay up potentially a million and half+ to Duff if we don't go up because he's agreed to join us with 3 games on the promise we'd pay him the money he'll lose out on from Swansea? All fine doing that if we get promoted. But if not? Too much speculation on this board gets taken as gospel. Then it gets pointed towards the board and stacks up, as though every other rumoured thing was true in the past.
States too much speculation going off and people have no idea, then goes on to speculate it would cost 1.5m+ to pay up Duff, based on pure guess work, absolute classic
Just been realistic. 6 first teamers leaving for nothing & it doesn’t look like there’s many if any players in the squad to step up & replace them. The only real saleable asset is Phillips but basically there’s no money for replacements. Even if we manage to sign some promising young talent it’s unlikely they’ll be anywhere near their best in their first seasons with us.
Do you really know that for certain and any we could just set him on in advisory capacity for play offs. A bit similar as huddersfield did with warnock originally. But you have got to admit nothing much has gone right except for crawling into play offs and the board make the decisions so who do we blame. When you have been watching a team for 70 years, you get a bit of an inkling who is to blame and to be frank i know who i blame
