    ...and for anyone who ain't mildy excited by this world cup.....why do ya follow footy? and.....fek ya (in a jokey way of course)!!!!

    Nice to see someone being positive. Everyone wants to be able to say "I told you so" hence everyone jumping on the first plane home bandwagon.

    Of course winning it would be a massive stretch but I think there's a good mix of youth and experience in there now who will simply not want to lose any game. I'm not sure how the group to next stages can pan out but if we can avoid the big South American teams then I don't see why we can't make the quarters or even semis.

    This country would go crackers more than any other if we could fluke our way through a few games and win the chuffer though. In all seriousness we've got to be looking at the next one to really have a good go, climate should be a bit more familiar in 2018, maybe even more comfortable than a Summer here. 2022 (assuming the host vote isn't redone) will probably be won by the team who manage to finish games with anyone left standing.
