Couldn't go last night but interested to know-Does he look like the real deal now that he's playing more regularly?

More regular than 0 minutes yes but still not many.

He looked good last night he's very classy and comfortable on the ball.

Admitted himself when he came here than he thought he'd be able to play like the 'luxury player' he was in League One.

Realises now its what he does off the ball that will make him a Championship player and the rest will come with it.

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on. We could have some real competition for places in midfield once Mowatt and Scowen are back, which could be Saturday.

He played very well. He's calm and composed on the ball, and he won a few tackles and got up and down the pitch better than I thought he would.

We signed him for a reason, and I'm hopeful he'll live up to our expectations on that viewing. I'd keep him in the side, and push Scowen out wide (if he returns) for the tough games that we've got coming up.

One sub appearance and one start, I don't think that adds up to regularly.

Again I'd say Moncur looked comfortable and calm on the ball but off the pace in terms of covering. I enjoyed the battle between James and Hourihane throughout the match. Reckon they personally came out about even. Key to our win though was the substitution of Elder who was in all sorts of trouble. It often seems that managers are reluctant to bring off defensive players so well done Hecky for doing it ( eventually!).

Outstanding second half. Him and James ran it in midfield.

It is absolutely great to see given we have scowen and mowatt to come back still. Things looking up long may it continue

Stared not too well, seemed a bit too standoffish and didnt really get into the game and after 15 minutes I was thinking we were really missing Josh, but ...
As the half wore on he got much more involved and has started to win me over a bit for the rest of the game he played well, getting on with defensive duties and linking well when we had the ball.
Not seen enough of him to really have an opinion but thats the best I've seen from him. He played well alongside James and did enough to give Hecky a selection problem for Saturday with Mowatt back and possibly Josh fit

Based solely on the commentary, he had an absolute stormer. Seemed that his name was mentioned every other Villa attack as the interceptive force.

If it's between him and Mowett Saturday imagine Moncur will start (provided he's not shattered from first full 90 mins for first team). If Scowen is fully fit then he'll probably slot back in. Although Moncur has earnt his place by sounds of it so means we don't have to rush Josh back.

Like others have mentioned we have nice selection headaches in centre of the park! Also anyone know when Sessi is back training? Next year I assume?
