Oakwell does seem quite a popular away ground to be fair.

Some good some bad. Oakwell is modern on 3 sides, but they seem to notice the west stand.

The last paragraph? "It wasn't you that was good, it was us being bad" type of comment. Totally patronising by yet another club thats won **** all for years, if anything.

Awful price of writing. Nice that she likes coming to Oakwell but disagree that the result was all about how bad Norwich were . Absolutely no credit in there for how well we played.

Meh. We've said on several occasions this season, how we've 'gifted teams three points'. It's what happens. Forest were probably having a good old laugh at how we were saying we should have beaten them comfortably, despite losing 5-2

I attended the game with friend who is a Norwich fan. He was under no illusions that it would be a tough game. Before the match he said they had one of the shortest defences in the league and he'd read that we've scored more goals from headers so the surprise was that we didn't score from set pieces.
Half time there was only us in it and he was pleased it was only 2-0. We knew that they'd come at us in 2nd half and the substitutions made a difference for them but well played Hecky on seeing that and putting an extra man in midfield.
My friend said it was a fair result.

Young lad who sits beside us is a reds fan although born and bred in Norwich. He was looking forward to his trip home with his brother who was in the away end.

Football throws up some funny alliances doesn't it?

Their dad is a red apparently, but moved to Norwich.

A well written piece, certainly, even if we don't agree with much of it. She didn't give our team any credit at all for being better than theirs on the day. She did make the usual point about "good old fashioned ground". What??? One side of it is, yes, and the Grove Street facade is very much old school, but the other three sides of the ground are as modern as anyone else's.

Parking in a muddy car park - ahh, poor lamb. Think herself lucky that she had the opportunity to park right next to the ground. Not many clubs have the parking that we do and, of course, the other one is beautifully tarmac-ed!

Norwich City FC: famous for their banshee chef-owner, and a 'derby match' with a team from a different county.

I'm not bothered what they think of us. Diddums the Pwemiership wannabes lose to ikkle-wikkle Barnsley?

I was surprised at some of the comments on this piece. It appeared to me that here was an away fan who loves coming to Barnsley, likes the ground and the people of the town also. Didn't see it as patronising at all.

Really ""Oakwell, I’m going to forgive you this once, because you charmed me like you always do. This defeat had very little do with Barnsley and almost everything to do with Norwich. Hopefully next time we visit both teams will want to win the game.""

I don't think they have ever won anything. Ever. Could be wrong. They might have won 3rd Division or summat. Or Norfolk Trophy.

Big City in middle of nowhere is only reason they think they are a big club.

They do get 26 or 27 thousand every home game though so that must make them giants........in East Anglia
