Properly LOL. For all the times you have been monumentally wrong on a huge range of issues, this one wins the gold award.

This assessment to me suggests Reading's players are getting paid 2/3rds too much.

Ultimately every manager will be judged by results. When Keith Hill took us on a similar run I reached the point where I wanted him to go. But I'll have to concede that making that change, followed by another less than a year later, made no real difference to us and we were still relegated. In that respect, I owe Keith Hill an apology. I guess it depends on the timeframe you want to judge the benefit of making the change over.

Not sacking Lee Johnson when he took us on that run of defeats ultimately proved fruitful, but again, you can only speculate on whether a change of manager then (or earlier on during the run of defeats) would have seen a positive impact.

This is why, personally, I hope the new board hold their nerve and back Hecky. I'm just not convinced that a change will ultimately prove worthwhile. My own mindset has changed in recent years, mellowing with age I guess, I'm really tired of the culture of changing managers in football.

If Hecky was replaced, whoever came in would have to work within the same financial boundaries that exist. Those boundaries may change with the new investors in the way we want to see. And I think Hecky is well entitled to work within more favourable financial conditions and be judged on that further down the line.

If you want to identify "awful" managers and coaches, take a look at those who are, or have been, in charge of clubs who've spent truly massive amounts of money on transfer fees and wages over recent years, such as at Blackburn, Bolton, Birmingham, Wigan. I'm sure there are others.

    I'm an extremely self-critical person.

An example would be when doing my driving lessons I would think that I 'd had a bad lesson and made one mistake. The driving instructor would say what are you talking about you've done nothing wrong in that 90 minutes lesson. But In my head it wasn't perfect so I would obsess on that for the next 4 days until I could prove to myself that I did it correct in my head.

It's a problem of mine that I'm trying to improve.

I thought people got banned on here for trolling. Its against the rules.

You are entitled to not rate the manager. But In my mind there is only one way to describe your post and the wording of it, and that is trolling. I bet you are sat there counting the responses and having a good laugh.

Thats not what I meant. We can all be critical of our own performances in something we do. Thats human nature.

What I meant though, was have you ever admitted any of our opinions on sport are wrong, when the evidence proves it? For example, when you would slag off the likes of Houriane, Winnall and Roberts, saying they were not good enough for us, but now see the effect that losing said players has had on the clubs on field performances? My old Grandad used to say "Any idiot can form an opinion, but it takes a man to admit that opinion was wrong!"

Think about all the attention he gets for saying absolutely anything at all and then you wonder why he does it...

Factual inaccuracies in ihatebarnsley tyke's post:
    1. We aren't 120 years old
    2. Hecky isn't the only manager to take us on a run of 10 games without a win.

Quite openly honest about that I am.

Walked out of the NYS not thinking Matty James was any good. Walked out of SJP(end of the season) thinking he was very good.

Never did I say Hourihane wasn't a good player. I didn't like the over hype of him and one person claimed he was better than Jordan Henderson. So I put that, Cod Eye with a bit of detail. That was easy because they played together in the age group games at Sunderland with David Meyler who's also in front of him with Ireland I believe.

Winnall, I was probably too harsh on him at the time but that wasn't his fault and rather the different coaches. That's why you will very rarely see me mention him. I don't think I boo'ed him last season either. He was a player that fit the system very well. Couldn't play ina one though. Good deep striker/ attacking midfielder.

    There is that.

Then there’s the problem of illiteracy. Inane ramblings, illogical and dreary opinions together with a lack of grammatical ability.

All minor issues that could be ironed out I’m sure.

Well his fact checking is just as poor as half the journos isn't it. Claiming hecky has us on our longest winless run in our 120 year history when we went on a longer winless run just 5 years ago and have existed for 130 years

Whilst I don't agree with the sentiments in the OP, the head coach shouldn't be infallible after the calendar year we've had on the pitch.
