Cardiff Wednesday Derby 6th February Blackburn 17th February Stoke 24th February Millwall 27th February Birmingham 6th March Sheff Wed 20th March Reading 2nd April Middlesbrough 10th April Rotherham 24th April Norwich 8th May Will we get to go to any this season if so which you think we will be back for?
It's looking very unlikely to be getting into games this season now unfortunately. The best we can hope for is the start of next season
Reading. Genuinely possible in that it's Easter weekend and in April, and it means we'll miss Wednesday by a game.
I think so. Could be pilot match on 20th March, with 1k of us there. That's what I'm hoping for, but clearly depends on vaccine & infection stats.
No I don't think fans will be back at Oakwell this season. The chance of being in by August is a slim one. I wonder if other large sporting events will too eg Cheltenham Festival, Grand National, Wimbledon, etc which crop up before Glastonbury, held in July but already cancelled.(not a sporting event but brings in large number. )
I honestly think last couple are a possibility for maybe a 2k attendance. Israel have vaccinated all over 60s and report that hospital admissions have stopped completely. We should be at that point by late March so I can’t see why the last 2 games couldn’t have at least some attendance.
I doubt we will get in this season but with the way our vaccination programme is going and how the stats are going in Israel I see the first game of next season being a real possibility without the need for restrictions.
I think we'd all agree I don't think it's a long shot either. In the first half of this year those in the categories that make up 99% of deaths will have had both doses and millions more will have had at least one dose. All that on top of the summer weather and there would be no justification for not allowing normality. As you see here...... https://www.wsj.com/articles/israel-offers-glimpse-of-a-world-vaccinated-from-covid-19-11611662214 So if you're over 60 and had two doses even if you suffer from chronic illnesses you would have to be very unlucky to catch it. Also in this link...... https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/25/world/middleeast/israels-vaccine-data.html At the moment even with over six million already being jabbed it feels a long way off, but we will get there.
