Ten years time will be like millwall when they get to twenty say cos theres a rigjt army of them. Must have some rich parents cos my mam wouldnt of bought me a 600 quid jacket at twelve n me paper round just didnt cut it either.
I'll be honest, me and my brother never did without. We've got good parents who bought us whatever we wanted for birthdays and Christmas even though neither of our parents have good jobs. But even then the most I think I was allowed for a jacket was a timberland one that my mum paid £60 for, and that was half price. To be honest ill probably be the same when I have children and I'm hoping I'll have a well paid job by then too. I'm probably just bitter.
Yer there was little pockets of them all over at sheff untd me n daughter were sat in upper right next to em was talking to a few of em seemed good lads tbf
I think there great They go hone and away and always create a great atmosphere Nice to see they have some black lads going with then as well but apparently they are the most racist kids in England Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some.people on here just love to moan if they turned up in big jackets drinking tea out of a flask n dint make a sound everyone would be moaning that no.one gets behind team cant win. Get my vote they good lads.
I wish they'd pack this "everywhere we go" song in though. They've stolen it from Sheffield United who sang it for the best part of the game the other week. I found it ironic at the time because Sheffield United don't go anywhere.
Tell you what then let's call them trainspotters instead - must be the only reason to have been in the train station without wanting to get on a train. I'm not wet behind the ears - attending football for nearly 40 years you can tell the signs
So if I walk in a bank without using the services on Offer does that make me a bank robber Jesus we have some moaning old farts supporting Barnsley Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well what did they do that made them hooligans? Fight anyone carry on what? Or just because they had cp n stone island om?
I'm in two minds about this. Just because they are wearing CP clothing (whatever that is) that doesn't mean they are definitely hooligans and I used to get annoyed when I was younger if I was in a group of 5 or more as we used to always get kicked out of whereever we were (markets/alhambra etc.) even though we didn't make any noise or wear any 'hooligan clothing'. On the other hand, I'm not sure why they are wearing scarves over their faces and hanging out in places where they have no intention of using their services; they must know that they are going to get a reputation and it seems that they have more than happy to get that.
Ok, I have just googled goggle coats and that is officially one of the most stupid things I have ever seen!
My mates used to get their parents to buy them, a good few hundred quid, then take the goggles out, which made even less sense.
I think if you think about all the aforementioned clothing as football casual clothing rather than football hooligan clothing it paints a slightly different picture and is a little closer to the truth. I admit the young uns do look a bit out of place clothes wise but I sort of admire them for their taste. It's the sort of clothes I've donned since my early teens, probably 86-87 onwards. I started following the 'scouse' look. Fila, Sergio Tacchini trakkies, Adidas trainers, Levi jeans etc. it was just like now. I'd seen the older lads wearing it, thought the looked the dogs ******** and I wanted to look that way. That's sort of how fashion works I suppose. It didn't want me to go fighting though. Then when I'd started working in the early 90's I could buy pieces that my parents wouldn't previously have considered buying me. I'd progress and buy more and more and still wear IMO 'timeless classics' today. La Coste, Paul & Shark, Adidas trainers, Stone Island pieces, Paul Smith etc etc. these kids will have obviously seen the 'Green St' type films and the multiple Danny Dyer FV documentaries and lads at the matches and want to follow that style rather than dress in grey trakky bottoms and look like they're on day release from borstal. Or dress in all black and look like USA goths. Each to their own. Like some of the older lads on ere were maybe skinheads back in the day. Braces, Doc Martins, skin tight jeans. Doesn't mean they went around P4ki bashing. Or some on ere maybe enjoyed/enjoy the club scene, doesn't make you an automatic 'pill head'. The clothing is part of the casual football/terrace culture that has been around for donkeys years. Long may it continue as I for one think it is (a) smart, (b) timeless. At least they're taking pride in their appearance. Which, I'm sure most will agree, take a stroll around town on a Sat afternoon. Many adults can't even dress themselves properly to leave the house! Keep it up lads , the clothes and your support, not any trouble causing......... they don't have to go hand in hand
It was intimidating - had my two kids next to me scared as there were a gang of lads on the other side of the platform being filmed and being followed by a gang of police - even at their age they knew that there was something going on. Living through the 70's and 80's you got to see the signs and knew when something was happening - police knew something was happening
