They certainly aren't here because they are lifelong Barnsley fans, sure.

    They are profit-driven.

But I think they wanna do a classic buy low sell high. And for that the club has to "get high" by increasing in value.

They have made a huge recruitment error. They thought they could play the system.

But they are not milking the club and stripping its assets with no regard for the club's (perhaps near) financial future. (There is no evidence of this).

The truth is, they don't know what they are doing, have not done anything in terms of marketing the club overseas, as I thought was the plan & will be responsible for the worst relegation we have ever had from the second tier, whilst saying absolutely **** all on the subject all season.

Completely agree. Though, marketing the club overseas would be difficult for any regime.

Relegation is relegation: who knows maybe we'll win the next 14 games ;)

this time is very different the feeling is one of anger and we have a team nowhere near good enough to compete at the top end of L1 as Portsmouth demonstrated.

That’s the thing I just don’t quite get. I think we were just as bad when Flitcroft tried to build a team round Paddy McCourt playing in the Paul Gascogne role.

I'm not a board sympathiser, nor am I a board hater, definitely not a machete-wielding loon thirsty for Dane Murphy's blood (made me chuckle that did), and no I can't prove they have profited, but can you prove that they haven't profited? If they hadn't profited would they still be here? You may be right, they may be holding on for when we really make some dollar on our assets, but they may be waiting a long time. Nobody complained when we were in league 1 because we were flying, and because when we let Bradshaw go we replaced with better I.e. Woodrow, and when Potts was sold in January, we had Brown who came in and was an excellent replacement.

Skip forward to the summer sales. We sold, and sold and sold, and who did we get in, and where are we now? That's why people use the asset-stripping tag. If they didn't profit from Pinnock and Moore going, then why let then go? Why bother? Why not enjoy our promotion and keep those players, which we've been crying out for since they left? Or at least crying out for adequate replacements, and who did we get: Mads and Paddy Schmidt.. ay alreight. Happy promotion folks.

people generally thought the board were trying to keep us in the league and had backed the manager to do so. We failed but tried. This year we have failed without trying.

This is the epitome of conspiracy thinking.

No one can prove a negative: that's basic logic.

I just don’t remember it being that different. The board then sold our really good players and tried to bring in new ones cheaper, but who could do the job. This lot have tried to do the same.

Spoken like a true diplomat! Okay then, can you prove that the expenditure outweighs the income I.e. can you prove that the board have spent more than they've made? I highly doubt it.

It's not really a negative in this situation though. Money has come in from player sales. It must have gone somewhere. There has been a claim that it has gone to our owners. You say this claim is daft. You are then being asked to prove where it has gone rather than where it hasn't. I doubt you can. In the football world of undisclosed fees and secrecy it's impossible. If you are incapable of proving where the money has gone, how credible is dismissing an alternative view if they simply can't do what you equally can't do?

    Supposition.

Unsubstantiated. I welcomed evidence to the contrary. On that basis, I called it a conspiracy.

See above. Cannot prove something is not.
