Well i understand they dont want to spend big as thats whats been said But out of all 5 of them im sure they could reach in pockets and collectively stump that up for hecky and say thats for players and wages go and get 3-4 very decent experienced players out of that,,,,,i mean if we dont spend spend decent then are we still going to be looking at same players (lower divisions-loans,in-experienced players to come good and again sell on being a feeder club if so tell me the point of having billionares ????
They bought the club because of 'the plan' ... nothings going to change, maybe the odd older player to stabilise this season, but even that is probably not on the cards. I would have thought the only difference will be is that we might be more competitive on wages.
They couldn’t get that much money into the club without falling foul of the financial fair play rules. What is it now, average £13m loss per season over 3 seasons. Unless they pay silly money to become a stand or shirt sponsor. http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/financial-fair-play-explained.php
this financial fair play nonsense. Does it apply to all clubs or just us. As it seems to me that we the only ones adhering to it.
Be surprised if we spend much, unless Mawson is sold early in the window, which might net us £3 million from the sell on & if Yiadom goes for £2 million. £5 million may buy us a decent striker. I think loans from France could be more likely, other than that.
And so it begins ! I said last week that people on this forum will be expecting the owners to be throwing the cash about before most people are still singing Auld Lang Syne & whats more , it will not be long before the owners start getting slagged off , its a racing cert
Knock a zero off the end of that number and you would still be miles off. Your figure is so far wide of the mark its laughable. Complete cuckoo. We won't spend that much money in the next 6 years. If that is what you are hoping for from the new setup then I fear you are in need of a serious reality check otherwise you will be very disappointed, very soon.
**** me sideways, there’s a few on here thinking they’re massive. Get thasen off to S6, they’ll love you thee’er. £50million
Whatever hypothetical Figure, this transfer window will give us a good idea if they are gonna go on as before.. or not..
By the sounds of it, we'll spend what we get. That's what they did at Nice last summer and spent exactly what they received in transfer fees. With the books balanced and having a billionaire backer behind the club, we can afford to use the money on transfers. Hopefully Mawson goes to West Ham and the percentage we get off that will be made available. Any transfer fees we receive from players outgoing, if Winnall, Bree and Hourihane left this January, we'd have that money available to spend instead of banking it to even the books or whatever.
The size of the transfer fees is fairly irrelevant. Short term it's the wages we will offer that will limit us. We have a slight extra sweetener to offer to younger players now in that the wealth behind the scenes may generate higher wages a couple of years down the line with the possibility of the club also being competitive at the top end of the table.
