Hopefully NHS get looked after the most from all this. They should be number one priority. Give them all a payrise, train thousands more up, give them the equipment they need with machines and PPE etc.

I was really pleasantly surprised here lots more noise than I expected in a semi rural area. Sounded like everyone in our neighbourhood was out clapping and in some cases cheering.

Clapping, cheering and fireworks were all incredibly loud on our street in Hoyland.

The lump in the back of my throat is related to something else I promise.

They should, but if the NHS reaches breaking point the Tories will point to it being proof that it isn't fit for purpose and that privatisation is needed...

We live in a quiet, quite rural area. It was deafening noise at 8pm, with cheers, hurrahs, clapping, dogs barking, the lot.

My missus was clapping along, think she got emotional bless her. She'll be back in at 6am for another day wearing the cape!

So you don’t get 8’weeks a year you completely made that up. Glad we worked that out. You don’t understand maths in any way if you think you do so hopefully you don’t dispense meds....

As I said HCAs are clearly better off in the NHS. My mate is a private doctor in London do you think he will be giving that any time soon. Other friends are nurses in Dubai. What’s the chances of them returning to the NHS to earn 50% less than they do now.

Anyhoo time to celebrate the NHS not argue with cheese.

Ironically they have been reintroduced by the Tories from September of this year after they previously scrapped them three years ago.

What a criminal mess they have made in the name of 'austerity', and its led to a large fall in applications. There will be significantly less nurses qualifying over the next 3 years as a result.

In what way? I'm happy and truly thankfull that i work in the nhs. I've tried to point out why i feel this way. It's a vocational thing for me anyway, i was an engineer earning much more money before i went into the nhs. I pointed out that i previously worked in private healthcare where the pay and conditions are considerably less beneficial.

I don’t know exactly what your role is but I have family members in the front line of this. And we are worried. Big time. Perhaps you ought to aim your comments at the chinless wonders who are currently minting it without taking any risk at all. Other than with other people’s money that is.

I work 3 shifts a week. I complete my weekly full time hours in 3 days. Therefore if i put 3 days holiday in then i get 7 days off. So yes i get over 8 weeks holiday which is 26.25 days ÷ 3 days :)
Historically many nurses went to saudi and the gulf states where they received handsome taxfree salaries: incomparable.
It clearly pains you that i'm happy with my lot financialy and beneficially. I'm not happy with my lot in the nhs in any other capacity. I have fought hard for a very long time regarding deliberate under-staffing. I've contacted the cqc many many times. I've contacted my local MP and the commissioners. Unfortunately a lone voice will never be enough. Not enough people are prepared to put their head above the precipice.
I've done my bit and more so i can hold my head high.
"Cheese" though? How old are you?
