95% of transfer fees gone...Oh yeah

    3 mill for Lynsey, 3 mill for Pinnock, 3-4 mill for Moore , 6 mill for gaining promotion to championship increase in season ticket sales etc and that's gone on purchase of present squad..... Moore only went just before transfer deadline and Schmidt purchase of £700 000 so where has the surplus gone. Methinks come January, either we will sell (more than likely) the better players if owt like an offer comes up, OR try to rescue the season with a couple of much needed signings. The transfer dealing starting with the sale of Potts in mid promotion season and Lynsey,Pinnock and Moore after promotion makes me rather fearful for the future. Of course I could be wrong....

    It really does show their contempt for us that they think this is a lie we will believe.
    Especially when I am absolutely certain Con-way said at the end of the window (possibly during the BEST TRANSFER WINDOW IN THE CLUBS HISTORY speech, which I am perplexed that they don't seem to have been asked about last night) that we had plenty of budget left to spend in Jan.
    They think we are thick.

    Well the spin doctor's one liners wont wash this time . Remember how fantastic Greene was gonna be, best transfer dealings in summer gone etc turned out to be utter tripe. Lost all faith in present board I'm afraid who i feel are just out to make money and have no empathy for the club or fans. If we do go down I for one won't be renewing my season ticket . After watching BFC for over 50 years I am sick of selling any players regard less of their importance to the team. Never has Oakwell been a bigger sweet shop than it is now and I shall just go when I feel I can summon up the enthusiasm . Fed up of watching our better players go for any reasonable bid even if it's to a team in the same league. As for the present boards plan they can shove it where the sun doesn't shine as far as I am concerned.

    I amfraid you may well be right. As I said no faith in the board . They are not interested in football, Barnsley fc or the fans ..just in making money. Wish it was otherwise, hope I am wrong but as I said , no faith in board and COE doing what the fans want.

    It will be interesting to see if this does happen in January with us all anticipating that it will.
    Nobody, but nobody, will say that we didn't see it coming.
    The problem for the owners is that we know it will happen and they are already in the firing line, 2 to 3 months ahead.

    I like many others I suspect , thought that the new board would be able and willing to support the club financially in a way Patrick C was unable to . But Patrick was a supporter who had the club at heart and we should be grateful to him because (as it says on the flag) he saved the club in its hour of need. But it has to me become increasingly obvious that the current board are not singing from the same hymn sheet. Hoping I'm mistaken but feel they would sell the turf off the pitch never mind the players if a suitable offer came along . They would then replace it with grass seed which has 'the potential to develop ' into a lush playing surface.
