    But there were 250,000 vacancies in the closure programme , every miner was offered a job within the industry . Many had to relocate and many did with thousands coming to Barnsley from Scotland and the north east .
    There were massive recruitment drives in schools etc in fact I can remember the NCB recruitment officer coming to our school year after year recruiting .

    Even if you discount this, the current Conservative Party is just as dispicable, and Tory Voters from anywhere North of Watford are making a terrible decision.

    I was in town but you couldn’t get near with the amount of security and entourage that surrounded him ,unless you wanted to praise him which I didn’t see many do .

    The point really is that there are lot's of people in town who feel they are being neglected - rightly or wrongly, and they are being persuaded by Oswald Farage and his ilk that the immigrants are to blame. It's a symptom that repeats what happened in Germany before the 2nd world war when the Jews were blamed. I'd have thought the older voters would have seen this and recognised it, but sadly the older ones are worse than anyone.

Sadly watching the news recently, the people who have suffered most and would suffer most in the future, are the ones who will vote for the fascists.
