And 92 for sure. What I didn’t plan for was Pompey winning 8 games in a row. If they can make it 11 we won’t even do it with 94 points which would be hugely frustrating That said if we get 94 points and they beat us you just have to accept that sometimes these things happen. Can’t fault anything at our side of that happens.
I'm confident Pompey won't win all three. You'd expect Peterborough to relegate Walsall on Saturday: that keeps their play-off chances alive going into their game at Fratton. Portsmouth's three remaining fixtures are 'ard: Sunderland, Posh and an Accrington side who might need a point to guarantee survival. Famous last words, but Portsmouth will only take five points from that lot, I reckon.
I'm hoping that Donny drop points tomorrow which leaves Posh well in the play-off race and if they play like they did at Sunderland there is every chance.
could be, a draw doesn't really do anything for either of them really, so if its level going into the last 10 expect both sides to go for it. I would personally feel better seeing Sunderland in front. If we dont win our last 2 then we can have no complaints anyway.
The gap between ‘the best’ and ‘the rest’ in this Division is alarming. It’s like the Premier League.......but interesting.
Completely agree. If you get 94 points and don't get promoted, it's incredibly back luck. It might not be enough for the usual suspects on there though...
It is still possible for Charlton to finish in 5th with 88 points. Last time we were promoted, champions Wigan only got 87.
Bookies have us 2/5 on for promotion...... https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-1/promotion Lets hope they have it right.
They are poor odds Id say our chances are at best evens at the moment- I'd have put Pompey as slight favourites over us given the run they are on and the fact they have their destiny for automatic promotion in their own hands - their odds of 5/6 for them look much better than our 2/5
After the Burton game, I thought that we'd need to win all 5 remaining games and get to 94, to give ourselves a chance. But that was because I thought Sunderland would only drop 6 or 7 points max, rather than Portsmouth winning all of their games. So I was wrong too! Regardless of what happens now, if we don't finish top 2, you just have to accept that two clubs were better.
