Hammill probably has been overpaid in terms of what he's contributed this season but it was probably worth it in season ticket sales & shirt sales at the start of the season with how popular he is.

We've got great value out of lads like Scowen & Roberts who aren't on championship wages. You can't win them all & we're getting good value from a lot more players than ones that we aren't

 

Wigan are receiving parachute payments (last year). McGeady just signed for 2 million plus on 20 grand a week and won't be taking much of a pay cut.

 

How can you not know that wigan are receiving parachute payments? It is well documented and has been discussed many, many times.

A quote from the wigan chief exec: "The club is now receiving the final year of parachute payments which have significantly inflated turnover for the last four years."

Well over £10m by the way and over £50,000,000 in the last 4 years

 

If we paid a player more than the retail value of 6 shirts then it was pointless as we sold out immediately

As posted above Wigan ARE receiving parachute payments this season.

McGeady IS having at least half of his 40 odd k a week wages paid by Preston.

Expensive loan of Matty James? Wasn't it said by Hecky that Leicester have let us have him for nothing and Leicester have continued to pay his wages?

Oh and to answer the initial post. Hecky has done a magnificent job this season with everything has gone one. If you couldn't see the improvement in a number of players over the last couple of weeks then maybe football isn't for you. Moncur being a prime example of a guy who looked like a lost boy and now looks like a real footballer. The acid test as we all know is the summer and recruitment. No doubt there will be numerous incoming and outgoings including a couple of our better remaining players it's about rolling with the punches and Hecky is without a doubt in my mind the man to do that job.

 

James has cost us nothing, mainly because Hecky and his staff put together a plan for him that went over and above any other club. But yer know, yer know.

 

You're right the acid test is this summers recruitment and that isn't solely down to Hecky.

What read it all now about Heckingbottom. Moncur was a very good footballer before he ever joined Barnsley Football Club. He was with West Ham until 20 month agao and then went to Colchester and was one of the best-attacking midfielders in League One.

PH made it so he wanted out of the football club asap. He was given a very good team on a plate by LJ and the recruitment he did in the two transfer windows he was at the club. The last two windows have been awful.

Please tell me you are not trying to intimate that Johnno is even fit to clean the changing room after one if Hecky's team talks. If you are I want you banned permanently with immediate effect.

 

It's pointless telling you what happened with Moncur. It's clear you haven't listened to him you're just deciding to fire on Hecky as he's popular.

Hecky doesn't do the recruitment, certainly not alone.

Do us all a favour, stay off here and stay away from Oakwell.

 

Liverpool Echo have reported that MCGeady is expected to transfer for 2 million plus.

I feel disenfranchised. Is the spreadsheet of players wages only available to a select few? Typical of our club to only supply limited copies.

 

I very rarely comment on your posts HT, and have to admit at times i agree with some of your points, however, most of what you are saying in this post is complete tripe. I have some questions for you, please answer as straightforward and simple as possible:
1. Do you actually want Paul Heckingbottom at the club?
2. Who would you prefer?
3. You state the last two windows have been awful....But you state that Payne should be in the starting line up - one of Paul Heckingbottoms signings - what about Angus Macdonald, Saidy Janko, Ryan Kent, Matty James, and now his attitude and application seems to have improved George Moncur?
4. We lost our Top Goalscorer in January, who quite clearly wanted to leave the club and was purely money driven, our best player by far reluctantly left. Would you rather us keep these players, let them leave for two bob and a conker in the summer and put the future of the club at risk?

As i say i don't often comment on your posts, but i think our Manager has worked miracles this season.
Unfortunately, i do worry about next season.
