We want on loan winger Harry Wilson 20 of Liverpool and striker Tyler Roberts 18 of WBA. Mentions now Oldham have stayed up John Sheridan wants Tommy Wright there.
I love the policy we have but if we end up signing the youngsters we've been linked with over the last week or two with no experience, nothing but a bottom three is inevitable.
The guy who sits to one side of me at Oakwell (and infrequent poster on here) watches Liverpool TV and has mentioned Harry Wilson a few times. He's very highly rated there and he's said that he'd like to see him on loan here.
Interesting bit in chronicle about Tammy Abraham v Adam Armstrong. One scored 20 goals at league one, and the other was a pretty unknown quantity. I don't think signing anyone guarantees anything. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Yep. My thoughts exactly. Objective in close season with (at least 12!!!) new signings is to get players in that don't need that much input by Hecky.
Interesting. I follow him and all I've seen him mention is we're trying to get Mahoney and Liam Walsh done early
I have a Liverpool supporting mate (he needs to support a real club) and he watches a few of their under 23 games and says he's a decent player with end product and closer to the Liverpool team than Kent. Even if we didn't sign him it wouldn't surprise me if we did sign a Liverpool player given the fact that we've put Kent in the shop window for clubs to sign him meaning they'll get a fee for a player that's probably not going to get in their team. Isn't it a bit early for transfer rumours though?
I would think that Liverpool will be thinking that we have done a job for them in developing Kent (watch him move somewhere soon) and we can be trusted to do the same with Wilson. Tyler Roberts has been on loan somewhere - Shrewsbury? He has scored, but not prolifically. I guess we have scouted him. We need to buy and not just loan if we are to achieve optimum commitment and stability. Bound to be a lot of movements this close season, given our playing staff at the end of the season. We will need to move quickly on a number of fronts.
Strong rumours round here from both PNE and Blackburn fans that we're very keen on Mahoney and have offered him a deal. Grayson's son has played with Mahoney through the youth ranks at Blackburn so Grayson has seen a lot of him and we would represent a more local opportunity to transfer clubs for him than Barnsley. That said, who knows what will happen. Wouldn't rule yourselves out.
I'd take Harry Wilson, even though it's in the U23's, he's got 17 goals and 17 assists which is nothing to be scoffed at. Having seen him play, I rate him higher than Kent Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
I remember reading about Harry Wilson years ago. He made his debut for Wales when he was 16 and I remember there being a story about his Grandad putting a lump sum of money saying he will play for Wales when he was about 2 years old, and he won about 100k from it. Kept an eye out ever since for him and he looks a decent player to be fair
