The defending for the first goal was truly abysmal. We are in tbe whole a poor team the table doesn’t lie but we played well today.

We need to sign a new keeper fast! Nobody knows how Townsend would have done. IMO he didn't look bad in several pre season appearances but obviously Hecky doesn't trust him or surely he would have given him a chance by now. Cavare is an idiot but but that's been covered loads on here tonight. Really dont know what to make of Thiam, looks decent ish one week and then garbage the next. Not sure he's up for the fight but we shall see.

It's just you've highlighted Davies, our captain whos been a good servant to our club and said he should be dropped but then agreed that Townsend isn't good enough , it's a contradiction of terms . You are welcome to your opinion but today's result lays firmly at the feet of Cavare .

He's just so frustrating . I think Hecky just needs to play him in the No 10 role or not at all . It's clear that he doesn't like tracking back so what's the point flogging a dead horse .

He did a lot of tracking back today though and did it well

Yeah he did I agree with that and thought he did ok today but he's not a wide player , he's obviously more suited to the No'10 role .

What should we change the entire system to accommodate him?

Read what I said . Moncur is a luxury he's got undoubted quality if used in the right position, stick him on the right hand side of midfield and ask him to run up and down the line is pointless . He's a No'10 or nowt else .

Nowt else for me then. He’s too much of a liability to be tried upon to make stuff happen as a number 10.

Fair enough but we've hardly ever played him there . The only time we did at the end if last season he looked like a world beater .

Because generally we don’t play with a number 10. The club blueprint is for playing 442

He was signed to be turned into a box to box midfielder but he hasn’t the desire to become one. He’s much happier being the big man at Colchester

I think we're agreeing to disagree . Moncur is a No 10 and nowt else , problem is that we don't play that system agreed . What I'm saying his that he's no good any where else so why does Hecky persist with him out of position .

We have 4 players who can run with the ball and commit players - Moncur, Hammill, Isgrove and Hedges. I would say Hammill and Isgrove are our premier flair players, but Moncur can, and does, run with the ball and scare defenders - something which is worth more than running around to look "committed", today he ran around and showed his skills, and whilst I'd start Isgrove ahead of him, he clearly is talented.
You can argue that Yiadom fits that mould as well, but he is different class and I expect him to be playing in the premier league either next week or in August.
