Nivver understand comparisons like this, have Scunny turned into Burton? It's like something Adrian Durham would say.

I agree with mellon problem with Wilson was he is a club legend for taking us to the top flight. It was always going to end in tears bringing him back but they was alot of call from the fans at the time. The first spell of Wilson was great and he got me hooked on bfc at 10 years old the 2nd spell was some of the worst football I have witnessed and he was rightly given the boot some will disagree (because of what happened all them years ago) the chessy fans are on his back to resign now and I think it's time for him to call it a day now in management.
As for the relegation it did make us stronger but it was a tough ask for any manager to keep us up with that squad of players.

Burton are a smaller club, had a small squad last season and a even smaller budget than scunny and lasted until the end so I wouldn't write scunny off just yet.

For me Wilson got very lucky 1st time at Barnsley he had Big Eric Winstanley who for me was the brains and he also had the best midfield player in the division in Redders.
2nd time Wilson came I used to go down to Oakwell and come away after the match win, lose or draw very upset by the way we played pleased when he got the sack he must have been sacked 4 or 5 times that alone say's it all about him.
Wilson and his minder Morgan will have gone before Christmas lost the last 7 league matches and scored 1 goal.

Nowt to do wi what happened all them years ago, folk on here were just fed up of us sacking managers as soon as results started going against us. Folks wanted us to back Flitcroft, Wilson And wee Johnno despite runs of poor results. Eventually they stuck wi one, showed some ******** and things fell into place.

A change of tack was called for, a change happened and a change of fortune followed.

**** all to do wi personalities.

Wilson was here over 12 months results were never there we were never challenging we hadn't won away scince sheff united when he left. I seem to remember alot of can't belive how we have treated a club legend posts. Flicker did great 1st season in the great escape but all the chest pumping wore off and the players he brought in were sub standard and he lost the dressing room.
Almost everyone wanted LJ gone 8 defeats on spin bottom of the league and only reason he wasn't sacked was the 3 year contract we would have had to pay out but turned out well in the end.

I didn't say everyone but they was a big call for him to go especially after Altrincham.

But not everyone did want Johnson gone or the other 2 despite not liking what was happening at those particular times we just wanted the club to stick by their choice and back their man and not surrender as soon as the going got tough. There was a load of Johnno out posts on here but most came from the same handful of posters.

The excuses made my some on here since Wilsons sacking were cringeworthy.

He was abysmal in his second spell here and simply had to be sacked.

I remember after Flicker went thinking thank god i want have to see Steele to Kennedy floated ball to O'Grady every again. 3 months later and Wilson had us doing exactly the same. Never changed a thing.

Then dont even get me started on the signings he made in League One and the football he had us playing. Literally nothingness every game. Just a bore fest.

Adam Davies, Josh Scowen, Conor Hourihane and Sam Winnall have proved decent for us in fairness.

    He didnt sign them.

He signed Treacy, Lita, Brown ect.

Wilson had never seen Scowen play once.

Id thought you'd know this type of information.

Always said he could spot a player, he just didn't know what to do with them when he got them. Tactical dinosaur

All our **** signings whilst he was in charge were people he signed and all the signings that worked out during his time with us were signed for us by someone else, I get you now.

I thought they were from the spreadsheet be fair. The same one that brought us marc roberts, Andy yiidom, angus, adam jackson ect ect. The signing lower league players with resale value from the "spreadsheet" was brought in by Patrick when we were relegated not danny wilson.

I didn't rate Lee Johnson as a manager but I'd credit him with signing Mawson, Roberts etc and spotting the value of loaned players like Isgrove and Fletcher. As I understand it the signing of players s a collaborative thing with the Head Coach having the final say. If they take the fall they should also take the credit regardless of whether you like the manager or not.
