Of disharmony in the camp. Do we know where they’ve come from?

We’ve got Hammill training with Donny. (Not true)

Development players banned from training with the first team. (Not true)

‘Secret’ meetings going off between players behind the Head Coach’s back. (Not true)

Hassell and Devaney dismissed from their positions at the club. (Not true)

Mascots banned from meeting the first team players before games. (Unconfirmed)

In the words of Richard Keys admist the Sky Sports scandal, there appears to be some dark forces at work. At I time when we all need to pull together, someone (or a group of people) seems desperate to pull everyone a part.

I’ve seen enough of these relegation battles now to know the reaction from the fans and this is not the usual one. As a whole when everythings against us we hang in their until the death. When we went down under Wilson the players laid down and let Leeds turn us over but as a group of fans we never turned on the club in this way. We saw some poor behaviour after Crawley away and an accusation by a local fan group of the manager being undermined but they were more isolated incidents. Even after Altrincham away which was a feeling of anger it feels very different to how it does now. We were angry then and disappointed but we never gave up. I feel the anger and passion is normal in a relegation battle but the bitchyness and acceptance of defeat we’re seeing this time around is not.

A majority of what I’m reading and hearing it seems that as a group of fans we have given up. I’ve read so many times this week that we won’t get another point. That we’re finished and Birmingham are on the up (they’ve won 1 and lost 7 of the last 8). Morais also won one and it didn’t turn our fortunes so why are people so adamant it will change theirs?

I’ve heard the rumours above claimed to be known as fact when they simply are not. Why this time around are we not doing our bit? Why have we given up? The bit that feels most uncomfortable is the bitching and lies that are cropping up in a frequency I haven’t seen before. A large section seem genuinely intent on helping to send us down rather than show the support we’ve seen in similar situations. There’s a local media channel on YouTube where 2 lads on it have literally slated anything and everything about the club with the majority of their opinions based on the fallacy and lies stated above. One of them says he slapping a tenner on us losing 4-0. Seriously? As I supporter I’d be ashamed to even think about doing that never mind announce it for the whole town to hear. The other states he knows for a fact Hammill was training with Donny. Who is spreading these things as facts?

What’s ironic this time around is we aren’t actually in the relegation zone and have barely been in all season. I cannot deny that recent performances have been awful and Morais tactics and rotation of players can definitely be questions. However usually as a group of supporters we’re able to put it all to one side and give our all to keep the team up.

The one thing that usually gives me belief we can stay up in these situations is how the fans pull together when everything else seems against us. This time it seems the fans have turned first and in a very destructive manner.

I haven’t given up but what worries me after the Millwall game is that the players appeared to look defeated

I think the biggest difference now is that this situation is very much self inflicted and avoidable. There’s a lot of pent up anger and a lot don’t know where to direct it so it’s going on the soft targets like Morais

We’ve seen players give up before though. Huddersfield away under Wilson springs to mind. There was a strong sense of anger that day that was aimed directly at the players but still not the acceptance of defeat like Im feeling from a section now.

That doesn’t make it fair or right to spread unhelpful lies.

I don’t disagree but then again it seems the new owners/Manager are fair game for being poked at after 3 months in charge. After all, they aren’t from TARN.

Some poor behaviour after crawley away and a fans group suggesting the manager was getting undermined...

Would you care to embellish this with fact or are you just looking to stir?

Perhaps after three months in charge you were wanting to slag Hecky off but couldn't because he was from TARN?

It seems as though loads of posters on here only started slagging Hecky after he'd gone.

Perhaps when they continue to slag him off, they can also copy and paste evidence of how useless they said he was before he left.

Just so they have some sort of credibility.

Going by social media alot aren' happy that he has left hammill out of the squad. I think that hasn't helped him although hammill has shown very little these past two seasons to prove he can cut it at this level imo.

Can’t be bothered going into detail but both happened and a lot on this forum are well aware of it.

I didn’t slag Paul Heckingbottom off at all. It wasn’t anything to do with his place of birth. It was to do with the self destructive arrogance of the clubs recruitment policy.

Never said he was but he is our most experience player and the top earner so I hear so expectations a little higher for him.

What do you mean pal “the self destructive arrogance of the clubs recruitment policy” and given the financial restraints of the club, how would you have handled it differently?
    This isn’t a snipe, it’s a genuine question.
At the time, i thought we’d done enough in the summer and was quite positive after January.

The recruitment policy was fine then.

It was the release policy that was destructive.
