Yer mean dryers that work and are hot, plenty of closet roll and nice and clean except for the floor with all those muddy booits.
Some of those pubs around there are rougher than owt in tarn on a saturday neet.. nothing better to do than a scrap and a sniff it would seem! In the day I always think it feels as hermetically sealed and inauthentic as Disneyland
When she was studying at the University of Cumbria, my daughter's second year was at the Ambleside campus. She lived in the village and loved it there. I, too, think it's a lovely place. Then again, both my daughter & I like Barnsley.
I love it, one of my favourite places. About as rough as velvet. Think there must be a different Ambleside that some people are talking about.
Wife's daughter lives there. As a place it's ok if you like outdoor clothing shops but bloody Norah, it's chuffin expensive, as is the rest of the rip-off Lake District !!!!!!!
Had my stag do at Ambleside... that didn't end well either! (The marriage, that is. Stag do was fantastic... Hawkshead beer festival)
Great brewery in Hawkshead. I had a week in Grizedale forest two years ago on a long DJ tour. My ex wife I don't talk about.
Had a proud dad moment today. Cerys started singing Joy Division Oven Gloves when I was getting tea out the oven.
Baffled by this thread - Ambleside is a decent place - surrounded by stunning scenery. Has good restaurants bars and hotels and even a vegetarian cinema. Bit commercial with outdoor shops but its a place I quite like to visit. Dont understand some of the posts above unless there is another one I havent been to
The issue with Ambleside Windermere and Bowness is that these places have almost become victims of their own success due at times to having too many tourists visit.at certain times however I would definitely not say that these places are rough.
