If you refuse to have the Covid vaccine should you still be entitled to treatment on the NHS. Any anti vaxxers on here? If you are why?
Well course you should still be entitled to treatment. I believe everyone should get vaccinated but you wouldn't turn away those with flu who didn't get a flu vaccine. You also wouldn't turn away others who increased risk of illness/injury to themselves or others due to their behaviour (e.g. drink drivers, asthmatics who don't use their inhaler).
If you choose not to wear Sun Cream whilst sunbathing in your garden in summer should you be denied treatment for skin cancer?
If you camp on the edge of a cliff and end up rolling down onto the rocks while having a pee in the middle of the night, should you be denied treatment?
Personally I think that unless you live inside one of devaneys inflatable balls you shouldn't be allowed to use the NHS at all. And no I don't mean those kind of balls you dirty git
To be serious for once, everyone who is legally entitled to NHS treatment should get it regardless. There should be no circumstances whatsoever that entitle treatment to be withheld. None whatsoever.
I asked a slightly different question on here last year and got treated like a trampoline for my trouble. The question I asked was if you refused the vaccine and became seriously ill with COVID would you expect to receive treatment? To be clear would also refuse treatment as you had refused the jab? I’ll get my tin hat
Of course. The NHS cannot refuse treatment without a good reason. Not having a vaccine and then getting the said ailment isnt a good reason.
That’s not answering the question I asked which was would you refuse treatment as you refused the vaccine?
Not going to say yes. But refusing the vaccine is different from all the examples of self inflicted injuries mentioned in this thread. None of these put the medical staff themselves at more risk.
Yes they should receive treatment. What I think should happen though is if someone refuses their vaccine when they get called forward then they should go to the back of the queue if they change their mind. I’d imagine anyone who has or will refuse in the near future will more than likely change their mind when they see holiday destinations won’t allow travel without a vaccine passport. This will not be fair, I’m in the category right at the end, so I’m months away from my jab. But regardless of age if you refuse you should go to the back of the line. That said if there were any situation where the NHS were forced to refuse anyone treatment who is eligible it’ll be a sad day for the country.
If you voted for a Nigel Farage and any of his parties should you still be entitled to treatment for mental health on the NHS? Of course. Probably more so.
As others have said, nobody should ever be refused treatment for any illness or injury irrespective of anything they've ever done or not done. No ifs no buts.
Replied to wrong post but to answer your question. Why would I? The NHS is here to serve me not the other way around. If for example I was to refrain from the vaccine until further studies into its side effects were released I am quite within my rights to do so. Should I be unfortunate enough to become ill with the virus in the meantime and require hospitalisation then Ill be expecting the NHS to treat me to the best of their abilities.
We can afford to treat anyone who needs to be seen now we have all that money spare that we used to send to the EU before Brexit
