Question has to be: Any chance that Norwich will still be on? Looking at the temperatures over the next few days (it isn't forecast to get above freezing before the match is due to kick off) then I'd say there's no chance.
On the EFL website it says we are planning a pitch inspection but doesnt say when https://www.efl.com/news/2018/march/postponements--pitch-inspections/ Id have thought the pitch should be fine with the undersoil heating - its the concourse and surrounds that will get the match postponed
Its a helluva drive as, its a majority of non motorway, from Norwich. Common sense says to postpone it for me. Its not just about the pitch condition or the surrounding for me. Its about consideration for the away fans too..... But I bet the Norwich fans will already be cancelling the trip .... I certainly would.
Regardless of the amount of snow I wonder if a match should be called off if the air temperature is so low it risks causing distress to supporters.
if matches were giving distress to supporters then almost all of our games this season woulda been called off....
They'll have to come through Lincolnshire which seems to have got the worst of it. Even if the team makes it I suspect the Fans Mini-Bus will have difficulty getting through.
Seems fair enough as I say I haven't really followed much of the weather this week beyond the local area, been working a lot. Will say I think the council have done very well keeping the roads moving in Barnsley.
Club could get it on if they wanted, probably cost a few grand to get a private firm to grit from the underpass to the ground and all way around it. They'd obviously never do that though, snow going nowhere in these temps, better make other plans for Saturday.
