Pretty sure Walton is injured isnt he - no idea why we have had Hendrick and Greatorex - I would have expected Gretorex to be 3rd choice so no idea why we had a kid on the bench one week
maybe he is giving the lad the experience of mixing with the first team squad, which will benefit the lad. I remember Theo Walcott being taken to a World cup.... never played, not sure he even got on the bench. But he turned out to be a great player. Maybe that's the thinking here.
Wasn't Greatorex injured recently so Hendrick had to step up as reserve to Walton while Davies was away on international duty.
I know Davies kept his 8th clean sheet yesterday & deserves credit for putting his poor form last season behind him & getting his A game back on . He has obviously worked on his distribution, which has certainly improved .
Was he? That could explain it Didn't know he was injured either. Not really kept up to date with any Injury news, all I seem to hear about is woodrow and Isgrove
I don't mind back up keepers being rotated on the bench. Gives them all a feel of being in the 18 for a first team game.
I think it's giving them exposure to the first team environment as Dragon Tyke says and is probably valuable with Davies likely to be called up for Wales duty on a regular basis. Kendrick is an excellent prospect, same age as my son, first saw him play aged 7 or 8.
Walton’s got injured in the last few days. Either Greteroux’s been injured & has just come back from injury meaning that Kendrick got on the bench twice or Kendrick’s now above Greteroux in the pecking order & didn’t make the bench yesterday as he’d played in the youth cup the day before. It’s one or the other
Theres an article about Kendrick in the programme and it talks of him stepping up due to Davies being on international duty and an injury to Greatorex sustained in the run up to the game. But strangely theres no mention of Walton.
Walton and Greatorex were both injured at similar times. Not much has been said about it admittedly - but I don’t think they are major injuries, just sprains and knocks.
