At Dover this week? Asking for a friend. Must admit, I haven’t seen any. Supermarket shelves are still full as well. Not what we were told was it? Fish, sunlit uplands etc.
According to P&O website the current queue time is 12 hrs. Sunlit Uplands. not newsworthy, but mentioned on every traffic bulletin.
There are 2 reasons for the lack of chaos - the first is its a quiet week - everyone that could stockpiled all they can to avoid having goods stuck during the transition The second is they dont get as far as Dover - you need a permit to enter Kent no permit you dont reach the port - the chaos will be in the Farage Garages well inland
Interestingly my local Asda has definitely not got full shelves. Went last night. No meat, veg aisles half full. We'll see what happens over the coming weeks.
Main issue is UK to Ireland. Certain products need to have heath docs and signed off by a vet. We usually send 3-4 loads a day of groupage, but as it stands no mixed loads under the new rules. The talk is by next week the issues will be resolved and things will start moving again
http://news.sky.com/story/brexit-lo...s-new-trade-effects-begin-to-be-felt-12182181 I take it you chose to ignore this story then because it doesn't quite fit with your agenda.
Companies have stockpiled parts and aren’t ordering, trucks need a permit to get into Kent , some EU companies have suspended trading with the UK until costs of export to UK become clearer , particularly breweries .....
Agreed, just been to a very large Asda and I was shocked at how empty the shelves were, virtually no meat or veg, a little fruit, freezers half empty. Wilko also was very sparse for goods and has been for some time. In answer to the OP, just 5 minutes looking around tinternet gave these views: The ferry company DFDS tweeted on Friday: "We are experiencing a high volume of vehicles being refused and delayed at the Ports of Calais, Dunkerque and Dover, due to incorrect paperwork being presented at check-in." The RHA estimated that there were about 2,000 lorries a day in each direction making the Dover-Calais ferry crossing and going through the Channel Tunnel compared with a normal daily figure of between 5,000-6,000. The boss of Sainsbury's also said that while the flow of goods had been going well so far the real test would be in a few weeks when there were normal levels of traffic. Business leaders said there had been "significant problems" with goods going from Great Britain to Northern Ireland. The Japanese car maker Honda suspended production at its Swindon factory blaming global supply delays. Parents of children with severe epilepsy said they had no longer been able to get their prescriptions for a particular medicinal cannabis oil from the Netherlands Some specialist online retailers in EU countries have stopped delivering to the UK saying that they would face higher costs and increased bureaucracy to comply with UK tax authorities. I think it's a little early to gloat
Same in my local Morrisons. There have been strange shortages of vegetables on and off over the last week. No idea whether it's got anything to do with Brexit, but it's certainly been noticeable.
There really is chaos it just isn't being reported. I'm waiting on delivery of of approximately 150 tonnes of perishable goods from 6suppliers across 3 countries that have been stuck in said chaos all week.
Dunno but just been to Morrisons and spent a good £40 more on our usual shop for the same stuff. Prices have just gone through the roof.
Yep...all going well https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/no...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer Fresh seafood exports going off (literally) a cliff edge. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1610103659
Sent 6 packages out on Wednesday, 5 to our new non EU friends. Of those the ones to the Netherlands arrived safely with no delay. The one to Denmark got stuck in Leipzig Germany for a day but was then processed and is now in Denmark. The 2 German ones got stuck awaiting a clearance event, though one is now on its way after receiving more info from the importer but the other one seems more stuck than a car in a swamp. All exactly the same items, same weight, same paperwork including invoices. Given it up as a bad job and will try and salvage it on Monday
