Are we all happy then?

I havent seen us play the last couple of matches but have our performances meant that we didnt need to improve our defence? What happened to all the cries of "we need a decent centre half (if not two)"? A couple of clean sheets against two poor teams means we dont have to bring anyone in?

Looking at it Davey has brought in a couple of midfielders with little experience in this league from the lower leagues, 2 young lads with little first team experience and a couple of strikers with no experience of English football.

I can see how people have got excited about the fact we have two new strikers but this is only because they are unknown. We could find out after a couple of games they are just not up to this kind of football. How much has Davey seen of them? How many visits to Hungary has Davey made?

It could be we have landed lucky and one of them has said he is aggressive which is great as long as it isnt in the Tommy Wright mode of agression. I find it all a bit strange and im wondering how much panicking went into these buys. Also would everyone be raving about them if we had just lost the last two games?

Sorry if this sounds negative. It isnt its just suspicious.

We were utter Pony on Tuesday night.

If QPR had had any decent strikers we would have been 3 down before we had our 1st shot.

No goals let in was not down to quality defending.

We barely looked a threat going forwards , John Gregory must still be wondering how they lost.

It was the kind of win I like when playing away from home.

Does anybody remember those two Russian forwards bought by Millwall a few years ago. They were going to take the place by storm, but all they did was sit on the bench because they did not fit in. Or for that matter, the 2 Argentines at West Ham. Like always, I will wait to decide until I see them play. Until then, I do not intend to be caught up in the hype.

well, we have taken a risk

which we were probably forced into taken because of financial constraints.

if you look at what 250k gets you in our league then its probably a well calculated risk. any manager will live or die by his decisions and this will be no different.

hope it works out obviously, im starting to warm to davey as well.

i am more happy than if we signed drew talbot for 250k or leon whatshecalled that wednesday have signed.

i think it is more important to get players , especially hassell and howard signed on to longer term contracts - and not take the piss out of them either. brian howard should be paid what he deserves. if he continues to develop then he will be a huge asset for this club - i would make him a good offer based on goals/ assist and staying in this league. if you consider his potential value its a bit of a no brainer unless his agent is asking for silly money.

It would take sily money to replace him.

Unless we look at players like Dwaine Mattis.

    Thats a bit negative

Top priority was a striker and we have 2, Atkinson and Hassell can provide cover at centre half.

Mccann and loan signing next week stregthen midfield

We have just won 2 vital games and are out of the bottom three

Of Gord can get Howared signed and read a book on PR then we just might be ok.

When Ritchie left we had 15 points from 18 games, no new players coming in.

exactly - surely it would be a pretty sound investment to tie him to a 2 year deal? if we stay up and he has another good season i think he should be worth over a million quid

    In that case.

We could sell him and buy 4 houses in Penistone.
