Oh please! I'm an ex miner too who did his time on the coal face turning his knees into jelly, shovelling rock for hours on end, coming out coughing and looking like a black man, and that ass hole has a lot to answer for to lead the miners into a strike in the summer and at a time when the power stations were stocked with coal, and to cause so much misery for thousands of households. If he'd have had an ounce of common sense he could have turned it round to his advantage but he just wanted to make a name for himself. After all he did live in Arthur's castle. I've no sympathy for that man. I know many people in Yorkshire may think this a radical thought but so many people just followed him like the Pied Piped because they foolishly trusted him. Thatcher was no saint and I don't agree with what she did in any way but a more intelligent person could have sorted her. Scargill was not the man for that job as she surely showed him who had the most balls. I think she castrated him.

 

I've got uncles that feel the same way as you pal.

that was one of the major points of the mining community he did not take a ballot.

 

scargill led from the front,put himself on the front line, was knocked unconcious and then arrested.You will find that throughout the course of history those that were vilified and mocked because they stood up for what they believed in often turn out to have been right all along and indeed go on to actually recieve the credit that they deserve.
Scargill was voted in by one of the highest ever percentages for,something none of his detractors ever got.No doubt some distant mates father of yours thinks he was a lovely person,but hey,dont let that get in the way of facts.
