    Could’ve put Paul Conway in charge of the tour and it wouldn’t have gone any worse. The players, the selections and the coaching is just awful.

    Wood and Broad have played together once, which was the one test to see us get 20 wickets. No batters improve under this coaching setup. The answer to any batting issues always seems to be to shift in front of off stump. Wouldn’t surprise me to see batters taking guard at deep point soon enough.

    Because Ashley Giles decided that one person should take charge of both red and white ball sides, as well as taking over selection responsibilities. Him and Harrison need to go as well.

    Just had a bit of 5 live on where they were dissecting it all.

    How about sub standard players
    Poor selections
    County game pushed into.spring and autumn with months of pyjama cricket pushed in the middle
    Supposedly had 18.months preparation for this tour.

    Start again with proper coaches, Silverwood was average at best, Graham Thorpe wasn’t a conventional batsman Giles, a bit above average.
    New captain with some nous.
    The decide which ones besides Joe Root are worth keeping on! ( answer… not many)

    Who's the outstanding captain that you would put into the team? Are we going to use up a space just for a captain, regardless of their test match ability ?

    I agree regarding the coaches though, let's look overseas if necessary.

    well coach wise Darren Lehman’s available.
    I’m not a major fan of a captain for captains same but Mike Brearley certainly made it work, I ‘d definitely like to take the weight offJoe Root though , plus he’s not particularly good at it.

    Silverwood allegedly got the gig ahead of Gary Kirsten because he put together a strong PowerPoint presentation. You couldn't make this **** up!!
    Ashley Giles just wanted a Yes man, someone who wouldn't question him.
    I still don't get how a bang average cricketer who was sacked as England ODI coach is director of cricket.

    Giles, Silverwood and Root all must go but we know that Giles will sack silverwood to save himself. It's pathetic.
