Simple as that really. Charlton played us at our own game, scoring on the break and pressing us all over the park. Nothing came off today. Apart from a well saved free kick from Mowatt early on, we just couldn't get going and our best opportunities, crosses and set pieces just weren't good enough. Nowhere near our best today, but well played Charlton. Hopefully a kick up the arse and bring on the Shrews.
Rubbish. The lads intentionally played crap today, just to annoy people on here. Charlton didn't help either, fancy them deciding to play really well on the day. Have they no respect?
Felt very much like Coventry away at times. These results will happen over a season not too worried by a poor game on the road, as so far they seem to be in isolation rather than the norm.
I never feel bad about being beaten by the better team on the day. Just need to understand what made them the better team, learn, draw a line and move on to better next time.
Charlton are one of our bogey teams. I'm always optimistic we can win any game in this League, but being honest, I didn't think we'd win this one.
I hope we can maintain our current form for the rest of the season. If we do, we'll get around 88 points and we'll have a goal difference of about +50. That should just about see us going up. Would be close though, several other teams are giving it a right go.
so why did the commentary team constantly remind us that we had not lost at 'The Valley' in NINETEEN years and had won the last FOUR games there.... that's a real 'Bogey 'team.
Interesting I've just read a Charlton forum and one of theirs acknowledged we had more of the ball, and that some of our passing was very good, apart from the final ball which was always poor.
