Did I hallucinate.. "Polter then netted a penalty himself when James Bree clipped the heels of Yeni Ngbakoto. But Barnsley won it with a dramatic turnaround as Hourihane's free-kick flew into the top corner and the winner arrived when Scowen pounced after Payne's nod down. " Firstly, it looked a bit more than a clipped heels for the pen. However, tyhe 2nd point is that I am sure Payne's "nod down" was a nice little chip with his foot . Was the reporter even there?? JFH's comments definitely sound like sour grapes but as I wasn't there I cannot comment on free kicks he awarded to the Reds, particularly the one leading to our equaliser. Was it a soft one?
Yes it was a soft one. Soft enough for my brother and I to turn to one another and grin at the audacity of Hourihane to theatrically fall to the floor as he did. He used similar theatrics a few minutes earlier to win another one a little further out and less central. He's a professional I'll give him that. But yes, it was soft. In a 46 game season, I'll take them whenever they come.
We have it against us plenty and will for the rest of the season. Really cheap free kick but weve conceded plenty our selves in the past to useless decisions!!
